Hi friends! In today’s video we are packing the first Emily Cromwell Designs subscription box over a span of 3 days. This was by far the most hectic and craziest packing session I’ve ever had but oh my gosh was it a fun and memorable one! On the 3rd day in this vlog, we have the launch of my mystery grab bags and well, let’s just say that everything did not go to plan haha.

Congrats on an amazing box launch! I've been watching for a few months and really enjoy your content! I'm wondering if there might be ways to streamline the packing so it's not as labor intensive... Like writing the names on the cards before hand so you don't have to stop to write each one..... Cutting the tissue down to size at you don't have you spend so much time folding it or even eliminating it in your next box.. Pre fold the bags again so you don't have to stop. Then lay out as many boxes will fit on your table.. Fill them all at once...add in card and get a tape Despenser that sits on your desk to make it easier to close up each box. My body literally hurt watching how much work this was for you and I hope that you can figure out some systems next time to make it easier! What a huge undertaking. You should feel incredibly proud of your accomplishments!

I’m always experimenting to see which ways work best and with this being my first time doing the boxes, it definitely gave me some ideas for what to change going forward and your suggestions are definitely going to be super helpful! 💕

Hey Emily, cute video! A tip for packing the boxes - when I worked in a high end restaurant, the manager had us set the tables one utensil at a time. So we’d go round with a container of dinner knives and place one at every setting, then a fork, then a spoon etc. I questioned him one day saying it was a dumb way to do things and he said over the years they’d timed it and it saved a MASSIVE amount of time setting up for a service. If you have the space, try laying out maybe 10 boxes and adding all the totes, then all the scrunchies etc. I reckon you’ll find it goes much quicker ☺️

I got home late, but I got my box! 🎉 I'm excited! I will open it tomorrow and take pics. I was SO hoping to see you pack up mine, but alas it wasn't meant to be, LOL. I'm so dramatic. You should do an assembly line with multiple boxes open at once and go down the line adding that one item to each until each box has that item then you start with the next item. I have a lot of kids and grandkids and that’s how holiday bags and baskets get done faster

The way that I fold my totebags so I can storage them is as following (I hope that I can explain it well enough): I lay the design on the table so that the back of the bag is facing you, then I take the handles and lay them on top of the back of the bag (just flat, I only fold the handles to the size of the bag when the handles are longer than the bag itself). Next I pick the left and right sides and fold them towards the middle (but not fully, I would follow the size of your box) and at last you fold the bottom of the bag up to the top (or maybe you fold it in three, depands on the size of the box as well)... Maybe this could be a folding option for you is after this box you are still looking for one. ps. Emily, would pre folding and placing your tote bags in a bag take up any more space in the boxes? It would make things go a lot faster when packing your boxes. Just wondering. I’m new to you channel and everything looks so bright and fun. One of my good friends is a librarian and i think she would love some of your products. I’ll have to order her some for her and her daughter.

Oh and maybe another idea: lay the table full with empty boxes and fill all of them with the items (the way you have it now but the products on the floor or behind you and the table full with boxes). That way you will be able to do more boxes at the same time (I guess, depands on what suits you personally as well).

Unfortunately I’m unable to have anyone outside from my household come in to help because of my chronic illness I get sick easily so I can’t be near anyone without a mask on, but I’ve been looking into getting some VA work done to help clear some time up so I can focus more on designing and things ☺️
