Happy (almost) autumn my friend,🍂
In this vlog, I prep the re-opening of my shop for the 2024 Calendar release! I've painted over 12 illustrations for this calendar that comes in two sizes. My shopify shop has finally re-opened after being on a longish break.But my etsy shop is still in the works!
🌱 Also I'll introduce you to half of my plant babies! And I replenish some of the gouache pans by mixing some new paint so follow along for the recipes I mix and let me how it goes for you!

Loved the video! Question. After u test mix on the palette and u get the color u want do u just add approximate amounts of the paints to the little pans all over again and adjust as needed? I was trying to figure out how u get the new color u mixed up into the pans. I think this is where I’d mess up. Beautiful colors u made, love them! Thx

Hey Julie, Yes exactly, so after I test my first mix then I approximately add the same ratios of each into the pan again, i think maybe squeezing paint onto a flat surface then slowly adding it into your pan will help you control the adjustment to get the color that you are trying to achieve again. Also keep testing it on paper because usually dried gouache on paper looks darker than the wet gouache :) Happy experimenting!

@@DearElaine Thanks for explaining more in detail to me. I get it. Makes sense to use the palette to put the portions on first and grab from there. I’m thinking a tiny palette knife would help me since the pans are so small. I bought my first modern primary colors and black and white tubes recently so I’m going to try some mixing. I do have a Kuretake set already but want to try tubes:) Thx again and have a great day!

@@DearElaine Perfect excuse to go now haha! Like a candy shop to me. Since u mentioned we can buy Caran D’Ache and other colored pencil brands individually I’ve been on a mission to test out different brands and compare. I already worked with Primacolor, which is great. I have to say Holbein has been a tad smoother going on. Softer core. I have tried Caran and it’s wonderful too. But I’m leaning towards Holbein. I just picked up a couple Fabre Castell and Blick to try. Very interesting. Quality does matter for sure👌🏼

This vlog has so much creative inspiration! From misting your fiddle leaf fig to mixing colors... After watching, I have desk goals, organization goals, morning time with Jesus goals, and gouache goals. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your daily routine and the inspirations of how simple activities can bring joy. :) I know life is hectic, but the coziness and calm "feels" in this video is how I want to experience my creative time now that I'm trying to get back into my artistic hobbies. Dear Elaine, I hope you don't mind me asking: do you have the social/personal plan from music providers or the more expensive one? I plan on showing my Etsy shop too, like you, in my future videos, yet Epidemic and Artlist said, for that I would need the more expensive subscription. I find this unbelievable, since sponsorships and branded content is included in the cheapest subscriptions, so why would I not be allowed to show my own Etsy page... Do you know more or could help me out? Thank you so much!

Hi dear! I hope I'm understanding you question correctly 🧐 - "You want to promote your etsy shop on your youtube channel and you want to know which music plan is best for that?" I have the personal plan on epidemic sound which includes monetizing off 1 channel per platform: "Publish anywhere online Monetize 1 channel per platform Unlimited downloads" So on each social media platform ie. YT, IG, etc. I use epidemic sound on one handle. There are also free music in your YT Audio library in your creator space that you can use if you don't want to pay for a service. Also you can use music from artists like Lukrembo, Ikson but they will monetize off your videos if you don't mind. Hope that helps! 💕
