Realistic Hi-Hat Programming: In real life, harder hi-hat hits not only get louder but also slightly sharper in pitch, while softer hits are lower in pitch. To replicate this in production, adjust both velocity and pitch subtly (e.g., lower soft hits by 1/4 semitone). Combining dynamic volume and pitch changes creates a more natural, realistic groove.
