My siblings, myself and my mother saw this movie at the end of 2016. It was utterly devastating and yet incredibly powerful, especially as a man of faith. This movie is a criminally underrated masterpiece. Also shout-out to Scorsese for taking time to highlight the Japanese actors.

Scorcese is one of the greatest directors ever. I hope he keeps directing into his 90s, like Clint Eastwood. As he's said, "I'm old. I read stuff. I see things. I want to tell stories, and there's no more time." I hope he has at least another decade and maybe more in him. Because, well, shit.

I don’t agree with that - I think that most people want to go to the cinema to be entertained. This makes you think and work really hard.
