Just because Itachi is considered "stronger" than Orochimaru and Jiraiya is viewed as "stronger" than Itachi, it doesn't necessarily mean that Jiraiya is stronger than Orochimaru. Every ninja has unique strengths and weaknesses depending on their opponent. Some battles require specific techniques and skills to achieve victory. Power levels vary because each ninja is different.

The fact that the scene where Itachi says that Jiraiya is stronger than him is an adition from the animation studio that doesn't exist in the manga makes it safe to say that it makes no sense whatsoever, especially if you put in consideration that Jiraiya's fighting style is even more vulnerable to Itachi's techniques than Orochimaru's.

@@andre670luiz Well, we don't know the extent of Itachi's powers at that time, from what we see at first he is not very used to using either the mangekyo, amaterasu or his Tsukuyomi, we have no idea if he has the Susano at that point . On the other hand, the level of the Sannin back then was a completely different level. But yes, Itachi had other reasons for saying what he said about Jiraiya, I didn't comment on it so as not to spoil it for the guys who are watching it.

These guys need to seriously dampen their expectations. This isn't Jujutsu Kaisen or any other modern anime. This is an older Shonen. They weren't going for the whole "Hype Moment Every Episode Reaction on KZbin" thing that modern anime does. It was a serial show. Not every episode is going to have a hype moment, and not every entrance is going to "OMG Insane". You're here for the story that is unfolding. If you stick with it, it will pay off.
