On the heavier weight yarn, I noticed you were not making sure the thread went all the way down. I had the same the problem. But if you slowly push the yarn down it works,but I have found it is quicker with my dpn and knit the heavier weight. Fun video.

I cords can be used for straps in some projects. They can be coiled around in a circle or square shape to make a little coaster for coffee or a larger pot holder. You could make a place mat for the table or a rug for the floor. You could make a bulky scarf by using it to create ridges one on top of the other until you have a long rectange shape. You could coil it around to make a hat. You could coil it around to make a cat bed or dog bed or basket shape. You could use it for macrame or weaving. It isn't easy to make enough I cord by hand to really do these things, but with a power tool going I think you could make a lot of I cord!

Me too I just bought it from Amazon, I tried to send it back, but they just issued a refund and said I don’t need to send it back and I thought I was doing something wrong, so is there any way of getting it to work with normal yarn I’m just a bit puzzled

That was a fun watch. I use a 4v drill and attachment on my Addi (as do lots) speeds up the cranking for sure. I tried an Addi egg but the gears stripped very quickly using light yarn sadly. I may give this one a go.

oh my god PML i just bought a knitting machine and saw your idea Girl you are ingenious. 1 male suggestion (you know coz we generally know tools better not misogynistic or anything) Instead of using a flat head screw driver drill bit, use a phillips head or allan key head drill bit - It fits snug and no friction I think you deserve a medal coz i was contemplating how long its gonna take me to spin enough i-chord to knit a blanket Now its gonna take a fraction of the time and its gonna be awesome fun Thank you sooo much Youre amazing and great video too.

This little tools is a treasure for making speedy I-cord! Have this exact embellishment tool, and have had it for approximately 8 yrs. It is a treasure. I've used I-cord in machine knitting, sewing and crafting projects. It is not to be used with heavy weight yarn. Trust me it is not about karma (lol). I would be cautious about consistently using a power tool in this small embellishment tool.

My mother made a christmas tree garland like this, except she used a crochet hook to do it by hand. This would be SO SO SOOOOOOO much easier & quicker omg!
@hoedown1757 жыл бұрын
i used a #4 weight yarn but i have to tug the weight to keep the yarn from building up. also when each hook picks up a bit of yarn, the old yarn must be below the tiny catch that is below the hook. hope that makes sense. basically, i turn the crank a few times, tug on the weight to pull the yarn down the funnel, and crack again, and repeat.

on those first few rows I will pull the yarn by the weight to help seat it correctly so that they catch and loop off of the yarn hook and release for the next row to knit. Also make sure that your weight dangles so that you have the right tension. If it is sitting or laying on the table, you will not have enough tension for the yarn to loop and drop to form the stitch

It's not a total fail. You need to let the weight hang freely from the bottom, not rest on the work table as you did. Otherwise, there is nothing to keep it from bunching at the top. It states that in the directions.

The problem is, see those little latches under the hooks? If you manually push or help them close for the wool, watch and go carefully it should work. I didn't have the same brand but I had one similar which also didn't work. Do you know if any of these come with a 5 prong version?
