Thank you for this great stitch pattern! I would like to use this stitch to make a cowl. To work this stitch in the round, all I need to do is invert the instructions for the even rows (for instance, when it says k2, p4, i would instead p2, k4), correct?

E. G. Say what now????? I’m left handed girl, don’t do this to me. Does this mean I’ve started all my projects wrong??????? You mean to say that my cast on row is really my right side, not my wrong side?? That’s it. I give up. I’ve been in denial all my life. I thought I was special 😢 for figuring out how to knit 🧶 as a lefty. Cause yaw’ll righties really do knit weird.

The edge of my work keeps coming out lumpy. I did this pattern with just 12 across to try to get the hang of it. My bookmark shaped piece flares out at the top and bottom and something weird is going on with the right and left edge too. Any advice for me? PSA for other newbies: it's hard to cable onto a metal needle. I'm going to get bamboo and see if I have less slipping off.
@e2cmmm7 жыл бұрын
Talani Casariego Yes 👍🏻, I do find bamboo much easier for holding cable stitches! (or when I'm learning new stitch patterns🤓) Hope you have success using them, too
@helenbrown85727 жыл бұрын
Talani Casariego could be that you are getting tense and that can chsnge the width of your work. Try and knit with a mind-set of 'its ok to unravel this if I make a mistake'. When teaching people to knit its always great to get them to knit a few rows and....unravel it! We all get so preoccupied with NEVER ruining our work as it means starting again that we get tense. Sorry for rambling! :) God bless x
@sandracorona46596 жыл бұрын
Talani Casariego Hi Talani, I’m left handed and it usually takes me many attempts before I get a pattern right because of how my brain is weird and because patterns are a math thing. If you did 12, remember that the repeat series is a 6 chain pattern but there’s always stitches either before or after you start the pattern so you are probably eating these stitches ooooor you are probably including the stitches that come before the asterisk. Remember, once you start knitting the first number/letter after the asterisk you only knit what’s inside the asterisk and listen or watch how you need to end your row. Ending a row is normally indicated at the end and after the asterisk ooooor if nothing comes after the asterisk then that means that you will finish your row with the repeat pattern. It took me time to try to understand what should I knit and what not. Ohhhh and notice that the pattern usually ends with knitting (right side) 2 stitches or purling (wrong side)

Hi Kristen in your knitting book it says cast on multiple of 6, in the written pattern it says cast on a multiple of 12. You need a proof reader. In one place for lattice in the round it says the starter row 2 is K2, P4 and in the other is says row 2 is K4 P2 I am new at this flat vs. circular so I am confused but I think K4 P2 is right. Is it?
