My daughters never saw my straight hair only in old photos before they were born. I was thinking that could be one of my very special gifts to give her however I do not wish to straighten it after that because I wouldn't know how to maintain it since I've been like this practically all of my life lol. Black women may straightened our hair to get our hair trimmed or cut, it makes the hair look even and it's healthy for our hair, but our hair will revert back to our lovely afro 😃.
