I just discovered yalls channel. I love it. I just wanted to take a minute and speak to Jordan, brother, appreciate your father every single day! I'm a 34 year old man with hardly any trade skills who was raised without any father figures. I dreamed of having a father JUST LIKE YOURS. God bless yall and remember to count your blessings! Cheers boys, badass looking bathroom too!!

I can't believe a guy with as much experience as you tried to jinx yourself. "we'll be done in an hour". Every old hand realizes even tempting the gods like that usually makes something massive go wrong and you're there for hours.

Hey brother. Really like your videos. Love the good positive attitudes. Im commenting because I wanted to let you know something about this prism grout. Ive been a commercial tile installer for 40 years. Im a huge custom blend fan. The area rep is a friend of mine. I know your going strictly by the instructions, however, you can use just a little more water in your grout. Not much more but a little. The manufacturer is just covering themselves for fear of mixing TOO thin. Couple more drops will make your life easier without compromising quality. God Bless

would you consider that row of tile on the left, inside the entry way, a sliver? it catches my eye. also, if you put down the marble threshold before the wall tile, so that it looked more professional, it would not have produced a smaller sliver than the tile peninsula you skillfully cut on the other side of the shower. you could have done it, even though you said you couldn't. i get it. you had a schedule already lined up and you seem pretty honest which is good, but you could even be more honest. we're watching you studs.

An easy way to cut mosaics is to thin set the sheet onto some schluter, let it set nice and flat. It's then ready to cut to size and all the tiny pieces stay together .

That dragon-skin tile sure looks great! Love the sea-glass look. Surprised no grout company has made a **clear** color-tinted grout line just for glass tiles, so light can refract thru the grout same as it does thru the glass tiles!
@jamesm.8392 Жыл бұрын
With mirror / reflective adhesive underneath . . . can't imagine how expensive that would be.
@Chimonger1 Жыл бұрын
@@jamesm.8392 Thinkin’ maybe paint the color(s) you want to refract thru the glass tiles, & use clear silicone to stickum & grout. Not so bad of a cost. Or, sick up mirror of choice (even Mylar?), then stick on the glass tiles w/clear silicone.

Residue in the bucket, if it was the same bucket and drill with residue will make rapid set's kick triple fast some times. or instant. Giordano plaster guy showed a rapid set stucco, that was mixed and set by the time they walked around the house. Old buckets he says is the culprit. Some new buckets and spotless mix paddle can be the fix.

As a contractor of 46 years here is a tip to cut down grouting time. after grouting and before it sets up wipe the tiles with an old terry towel before sponging, this will get the bulk of the residue and save time and arm muscles.
@northernlightsrenovations17102 жыл бұрын
Agreed, by the time I'm done grouting my arms are super tired. It's much harder than it looks on these videos.

Please share a video of how you measure the walls and floor, so that you do not end up with small cuts at the ends. Also, which wall you tile first to hide end cuts. (Tile the rear tube wall first etc) I find time spent on layout invaluable. Also, your process at the start of a job. Thank you for another great video.
@gamegeared21672 жыл бұрын
A TON of appreciation for grouting with the fast stuff. I did it once with the fast stuff without realizing it was the fast stuff on my bathroom shower reno. Did all the walls and floor and by time i had gotten it all down it was setting up on the surface of everything... and I was hosed. Spent 3 months of nights and weekends trying to get that stuff off once it set on with drills chemicals and selective scraping... and even then its still not perfect to me.
@northernlightsrenovations17102 жыл бұрын
As a one man outfit I prefer not using the fast set grout. You really need two people working it.
