1. You should atleast apply in june-july because aps takes around 3 months and applications for ss starts in october for most universities. 2. Try fb groups, contact university dorms, search on wg gesucht app, immobilien scout 24 etc 3. Get exact address of your apartment, coordinate with the apartment owner/ company accordingly on the day of your arrival to take keyas and sign contract. If you don't have anyone who you know in your city then contact university to send someone to pick you up. Believe me they will send if you ask them to.
