I study the Bible, like a hungry person at a all you can eat buffet. Searching the Heart, and Mind of Jesus fills me, and helps me to have strength to carry on

Very helpful. I did actually start in the New Testament with reading to get the message of the Kingdom first...then I went back and started the Old Testament. It made me appreciate the level of detail of genealogy, the laws to set them apart, description of the Tabernacle...accounting of how they divided resources. All of that is hard to read just off the bat, but, it establishes that God does all things decently and in order. I understood WHY Jesus was sooo angry that they turned the temple into a marketplace.

The music in the background is louder than your voice. It's hard to listen with headphones. Thank you for helping us learn the Bible. 🙏

Thank you so much for your clear, exact teaching on the Scriptures. May I offer something? The background music is highly distracting for such a serious teaching. Especially the type of music you have playing for someone who is not a consumer of that type of music. Please consider.

Look to be wrong. This is the best advice I could ever give a person studying or doing anything. It opens your mind up to so many things and you stay more flexible that way. I’m not saying taking everything as gospel but it has made me a kinder person to hear people out and seek to understand where they are coming from and respond accordingly. Define what things mean to them and then you can assist with wisdom and understand where they are having difficulty. It has made it so much easier to “pour water” on the fire started by people who seek to have meaningless quarrels.

Loved you pointing out to actively search for where I may have read or interpreted something incorrectly. This helps us to always remain teachable.

Those a very effective tips. I think if people decided that it was actually okay to be wrong from time to time, then Biblical illiteracy wouldn’t be such a problem in the church today. But the biggest problem has to be people allegorizing the scriptures and not holding to a normal reading. They end up making the scripture to say just about anything they want it to say and it is causing a chain reaction amongst others who don’t know how easy it is to read and understand

Not bad, with the exception of the so called 'plain reading' portion. I suppose I could mention that it doesn't matter where you 'start' in the bible. Most start in the gospels anyway. In fact, I must insist that if all you've done is a 'plain reading' (learning Greek and Hebrew is NOT a plain reading) then its more likely that you are misinformed and most actual biblical scholars will disagree with you, whether they study theology or religious studies.
