I mentioned that I had finished my master's degree, lots of you asked me to make a video talking about my experiences and reflecting on how my year of study has been. If you are new, I studied translational cancer medicine (MRes) which is a master of research, at King's college london. In this video I talk about the aspects of being a cancer research student, what the difference is between an MRes and an MSc and an MSci, and talk about some of the research projects I did. And the best part is that I have Jack as my starring guest, who also shares his experience of the course!

The education system (or my school at least) should really be recommending channels like this to us. The videos you offer are really useful. keep up the good work.

None of my experiments for my A level biology worked😂 my teacher was frustrated at the fact that no one in the class got accurate and reliable results. In the end we had to use the ones given to us and 'analyse' them😂. But I still miss working in a lab- I can't do it in my nursing course but oh well 😔.

Hi Atousa, how many hours and days of lab work is there per week? Essentially I am thinking of pursuing the MRes whist doing an 80% clinical job, so I would have 1 day off during the weekday. Do you think it is doable?

Many thanks for this information video. Just a small Q: By what you mentioned in the video, does it mean you need to be 'very familiar' with the masters topic and 'have some related research experience' before enrolling in such a program?
@atousa5752
@atousa5752 4 жыл бұрын
You're more than welcome :) You don't have to be 'very' familiar no, but it is useful to have a bit of an idea around the topics so that you can discuss them if you get an interview. Best of luck
