I was not able to talk to any knowledgeable one regarding this matter of breaking the fast. Let's get to the point In Surah Al Baqarah- chapter 2- and ayat 187 states that we should fast until the night ( Al-layli), the 47th word . Furthermore, in Surah Ya-Sin-chapter 36- and ayat 7 night is defined as such: " And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness." With that clarification, no where in the Quran it says that we should fast until Sunset because as you might know specially in the summer after the sunset, in the sky their is light. I would like a comment or to know if you were aware or ignorant of the fact? I am not here trying to cause trouble however this at up most importance to me and it should be Also up most importance for the Ummah because if we are changing the commandments of Allah to suit us how are we going to succeed in this life or the next? How is the Muslim Ummah breaking their fast early?

Carlo picko بسمالله الرحمان الرحيم، الحمد الله و الصلاة و السلام على رسول الله. To lay down a principle with regards to every act of worship, there are two pillars. 1. To do that action sincerely for Allah's sake alone. 2. To do that action according to how the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم did it. These were both mentioned by al-Imaam Fudayl Ibn 'Iyaad رحمه الله in his explanation of the 2nd verse of Surah al-Mulk. With regards to the time of breaking the fast, there is a comprehensive answer for you here: islamqa.info/en/12470 In summary, there is a consensus that the fasting of this Ummah is from Fajr until Maghrib - dawn to sunset. And Allah knows best.

Carlo picko Praise be to Allaah. The Sunnah is for the fasting person to hasten to break the fast as soon as he is certain that the sun has set, because of the hadeeths “The people will continue to be fine so long as they hasten to break the fast” and “The most beloved of the slaves of Allah to Allah are those who are quickest to break the fast.” The best way for the one who is fasting is to break his fast with a few dates, then delay eating until after Maghrib prayer, so that he may combine the Sunnah of hastening to break the fast and praying Maghrib at the beginning of its time, in congregation, following the example of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). With regard to the hadeeths, “There is no prayer in the presence of food or when resisting the urge to relieve oneself” and “If ‘Isha’ and dinner come at the same time, start with dinner,” and similar reports, what is meant is if a person is offered food or if he comes to eat, then he should start with the food before praying, so that he can pray without his mind being focused on the food and his prayer then will be offered with proper focus and humility. But he should not ask for food to be brought before praying if that means that he will miss out on offering the prayer at the beginning of its time or praying in congregation. And Allah is the source of strength; may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and Companions. End quote. Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz, Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez Aal al-Shaykh, Shaykh ‘Abd-Allah ibn Ghadyaan, Shaykh Saalih al-fawzaan, Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd. ﴿ثُمَّ أَتِمُّواْ الصِّيَامَ إِلَى الَّيْلِ﴾ (...then complete your fast till the nightfall.) This Ayah orders breaking the fast at sunset. It is recorded in the Two Sahihs that `Umar bin Al-Khattab said that Allah's Messenger said: «إِذَا أَقْبَلَ اللَّيْلُ مِنْ ههُنَا، وَأَدْبَرَ النَّهَارُ مِنْ ههُنَا فَقَدْ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِم» (If the night comes from this direction (the east), and the day departs from that direction (the west), then the fasting person breaks his fast.) [Tafseer Ibn Katheer, Surah al-Baqarah - Verse 187]

Mustafa Hussain did you read what I wrote, no where in the Quran Kareem it says we should fast until sunset. The translators blatantly change al lyali ( the night ) to mean sunset. You kept saying irrelevant things with regards to my question. Copy and paste much. AGAIN, I will say in ayat 187 of Surah Al-bhagrah. It says fast until the night. Night is defined in Surah Ya Seen ayat 37 has " night is sign as such that we take the light and they are left in darkness. The Ummah is breaking their fast early and still with light, following their forfathers instead of following what the Quran ordains. Peace

Mustafa Hussain yeah Allah does know best and it is in the Quran. The whole UMMAH is break their fast early and then we ask " why is the Ummah's ways lost or fallen behind?" Brother, Quran is clear and about when to break the fast but some how we are not following Quran but what the fore fathers teach. Read my pervious post to understand when it says break until the night and night definition is given Surah ya seen.
