We do wildcrafting walks in my neck of the woods , as we do mushrooming . The elders are our teachers that pass this info on . The herbal conferences that are regional have workshops I find some of the home study ones filled with drama . I became an certified herbalist thu a local wiccan group .

Thank you I started my herbal journey 40 years ago! I have taken several courses that do not exist anymore, I am mostly only for family health. My niece wants to take a course so I have been researching schools courses, I also will pay for her course! We not me, we decided she would take Aromatherapy first then herbal and we found a great school teaching both!

I'm currently studying Hippocratic herbalism for legal certification . The course is so outdated and filled with pseudoscience that it doesn't prepare a person to actually become a herbalist. So I'm looking forward to study in school of herbal medicine UK. Thanks for advice 🙂

Thank you so much for this informative video. You are a teaching gem, WELL done! I subscribed! I have been interested in herbal remedies since I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I found an herbalist while on cape cod but want to find someone in Ontario. I live in Burlington Ontario and wondered if you know of an herbalist who sells their tincture etc. AND also I would like to study it for my own and my family's benefit. Thank you for your help

Thank you so much for subscribing and taking the time to respond. I live in Ontario! I am located in Kawartha lakes. Unfortunately it is against Health Canada regulations to sell tinctures over the counter outside of clinic, but I am able to provide tinctures to my clients. If you are interested in studying with me further, I would invite you to check out my monthly membership platform as well. :)

Thank you for posting this video! I like how you acknowledged that people’s circumstances and goals vary, and therefore they should consider the factors you mentioned when contemplating this decision. My situation: I’m deciding on whether I should take an online introductory course at the Herbal Academy. I don’t aspire to be a licensed clinical herbalist. I have a degree from a university and am developing professionally in my field, but I want to learn how to care for a herb garden and how to incorporate herbs into meals and drinks. I also want to learn how to make cleaning/personal care products from essential oils. What do you think is a viable choice in my situation? Thank you. 🌼 (Btw, I’m in the United States. 🇺🇸)

Did you choose either of these courses?
@isabellacam47753 жыл бұрын
@@clarer256 Yes, sorry I just saw your comment now. I picked the Chestnut School as I figured that I wanted to not only learn the medicinal value of herbs, but also mainly to learn how to grow them and learn other gardening aspects. I love it so far :)

Thank you so much for the detailed information. I'm an overseas qualified doctor who lives in UK and does not practice medicine at the moment, but I always interested in herbal medicine and would like to go for it. I'm more into clinical medicine but I don't know if the subjects that I already did in medical school could be counted. I also want to stay in Canada permanently and enrolling in a 2 years program would grant me a 2 years working Visa which would give me more room to apply for PR. Please advice which Colleges have 2 years herbal medicine courses that would cover western herbalism. Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi there Destiny. Welcome to my channel and thank you for your comments. I am uncertain of the requirements for each individual school as this is not something I have looked into in a very long time. But I can tell you that you will likely not have to repeat any of the pathology, physiology or anatomy courses which is nice. There are not colleges per say that offer courses (that I am aware of), they are more private schools. Hopefully that suffices in terms of your visa requirements. For the larger schools check out Wild Rose and Dominion and see if either of those feel good to you. Best of luck on your journey!

Hi. Thank you for the video. I'm looking for an herbal school where I can live and learn on the same "campus" land. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could find this situation? I'm going to study Western herbs for now. And this would be for personal reasons, and not wanting to be a clinical herbalist at this point. Thank you
@SpiraeaHerbs Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I am not familiar with any. So many have turned to an online format at this point. Even my school was only partly in person and the rest of the science classes were online.

Do you recommend Dominion College?

I personally was not a fan of their curriculum however I should stipulate that I took their first class over almost 20 years ago. I imagine things have changed since then!

Hi Correene, did you do the advanced course at herbal academy? I can only study online at the moment, I'm looking at their beginner, intermediate and advanced package. I want something comprehensive and useful for when I go to do a more clinic based course in a few years.
@SpiraeaHerbs3 жыл бұрын
No I studied at Living Earth School of Herbalism when it was still running in person classes (this was many years ago). While I have seen the curriculum for Herbal Academy I have not done it personally myself. I do believe deeply in their work though and am an affiliate for their classes! I would reach out to them and see if they can guide you based on your needs. And if you decide to go with them I would love if you could use my affiliate link (if that feels comfortable to you). Thanks so much!

I stay outside the U.S but hoping to make a move there. I desire to study western herbal medicine with spirituality incorporated. But I need it to be a tuition free school and a school good enough to grant me a visa. Do you know how I can get to find such? Your help will be greatly appreciated ❣️
@SpiraeaHerbs3 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry but I do not. My suggestion would be to reach out to a larger school (like Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine as an example) as they would likely have the resources to help you. I am located in Canada so I am most familiar with the schools here. Best of luck and please let me know what you find.
