His style is structured in a way that is instinctive/intuitive for him. Everything he does complements his physicality and natural athleticism, which is through the roof. Then add on top his warrior ethos and mindset. thats why he’s so dangerous.

Jiri deserves the nickname "stylebender".. He has his own style and in a way his own philosophy. He takes the good things from different martial arts and utilizes it. Hence stylebender. He's also a likeable guy. That's how I view Jiri

Jiri has mastered the art of scanning. He scans his opponents movements, which enables him measure distance well. This allows him to evade punches by using movements instead of blocking. Very risky way of fighting but demonstrates his confidence and self belief in his skills.

Personally, Procházka won me over 11 years ago during the title fight Procházka vs. Šolc at GCF. I recommend everyone to watch it because it was an absolute battle. Šolc was a veteran known for his powerful punches and iron chin. It was a clash of the old world against the new, and both fighters gave it their all.

My take? 1. You have to respect his power. 2. Has a lot of pressure on stand up (comes foward and dares you to throw) also great for gound and pond 3. Has incredible reach with punches from wild angles. 4. Incredible Chin.
@the36jmeable

5. His movements are pretty unorthodox and unpredictable usually 6. Has a crazy beast mode (goes into flow state) which makes him very dangerous in wild scrambles.

Great video. Jiri became my favorite fighter after that Dominic Reyes knockout. I went into a deep dive of all his fights and the. Discovered how he wants to become the greatest fighter so he can use his platform to tell people how we need to change our consciousness and stuff to become a better world. He was just in Joe Rogan's podcast like 2 days ago which was great to watch as well. LETS GO FOR DAT!!!

You read Musashi to better understand Jiri Prochazka haha, respect 👏 In terms of what makes Jiri so good, in my opinion... his striking is not fundamentally safe, but it is EFFECTIVE. MMA fans need to understand this, and the proliferation of YT shorts breaking down nuanced striking technicalities won't ever show this, but you can be EFFECTIVE without being fundamentally sound in striking: fighters like Khabib, Dricus and Jiri are all fine examples of this. As flawed as some of his principles are, he does some things quite well: he stays in balance exceptionally well, he has a great understanding of range, good timing, he punches in combinations, he often uses angles in his approach. These are all reasons why I favoured him to finish Jamahal Hill: Hill's footwork and balance are atrocious and he constantly overextends on his shots, and it was only a matter of time before Jiri capitalised on that. Aside from Jiri's chin, and his unwavering belief in his ability to find the win, for me his best asset is his gas tank. The man just fights HARD. He has countless first round victories in his career, but when you consider the 10 minute rounds in Rizin, most of those finishes were coming at the 7 or 8 minute mark of continuous fighting. Keep an eye on the pace and pressure Jiri sets in all of his fights AFTER a high octane grappling exchange: where most fighters engage in a mutual stand off for a few moments to regain their breath, Jiri immediately attacks his opponent. He quite often finds the finish soon after this. This is very evident in the Dominick Reyes fight, that spinning elbow lands just after they scramble to their feet and Reyes retreats to grab a breather.

I don’t think this was mentioned in the video: The interesting thing about Musashi is that he was a swordsman, so he actually fought people to death. That’s why his teachings about fighting are so valuable. He fought at a level that is not really reproducible today. Rogan has released his Jiri interview now. Prochazka talks about his fighting style and other fascinating aspects of his life. Highly recommended. Let’s go for that!

I knew Jiri could win beacuse of better movement. He is fast with fast reactions. And the head movement was nice to look. But what i like the most is the fact, that despite everyone said "Jiri is not going to learn new things, he fights mma too long" ...well, actually he can improve:) Let´s be real - right now Pereira is still too skilled and "deadly" for him. There´s no need to hurry:)

@danielbennett4606
@danielbennett4606 4 күн бұрын
@@israelbuzzofftothemoon This 👍 Hill's footwork is non-existent, he's constantly throwing himself off balance and reaching with his shots. One thing he has used to great effect as a result of this is clinching followed by knees to the body. It's interesting to watch him miss a shot, fall forward into his opponent, grab their arms to straighten himself out and in doing so pull them into a knee. But yes, he has zero fundamentals and is NOT a good striker.

I think he could do very well at Middleweight. The danger is that it's too big of weight cut but I'm not sure it is.
@rsas9435
@rsas9435 4 күн бұрын
He could do it probably. Now he actually gained some muscle and he still accidentally cut to 200 instead of 205 lbs. He didn't notice that until he got on a scale and had to re-fill some water. His cuts are easy, he probably can cut more in a Dagi type of weight cut. Now, if he would keep his power, that is the question.

The only reason Jiri's style doesn't work against Alex is bc he doesn't get the chance to be unpredictable anymore. Alex knows what Jiri will do before he does it in the stand up department!

0:51 ... actually solid atempt at "Ř" ... sounded more like a "Ž" but for an american, I am impressed! But once one of you americans manages to pronounce "Ch" in Procházka instead of pronouncing it as "H", I will start calling you an honorary Czech! (It should be pronounced kind of like "ch" in "school")

I will disagree with kicks. His front kicks (teep) are very powerful, that's how he hunts you down and create pressure. Also, his punches are also very powerful, Dominik Reyes talks about it after his fight with Jiri that he hasn't faced powerful punches like Jiri has. I guess the only stronger or equal puncher is Pereira in LHW.

Czech mma fighters lke Prochazka and Vemola present themselves as extravaganza weirdos. What they lack in technicality, they compensate with will to overcome lot of absorbed damage. Their brawler style is great source of entertainment and usually their blood spills in the ring. So no matter the outcome, viewers are happy for the action. Definitely good for doing business.
