Glad to see this subject still shines. I always analyze my dog when goes out to poop to check his health and I say "aw poopy time" in a childish way. Then again he was such cute dog with pointy ears like the wolf he is.

@@darkcreatureinadarkroom1617 well best to see what see but of course pick up to clean up. Except the watery ones. That would have to wait but that also involves trying to change their diet. In the end you report to your veterinarian. Good thing I study but I'm not certified or have the skills. Heh. That's why it's best to consult with your veterinarian.

Hypothesis: More male competition is a sign of overpopulation in zebras, so females adjust to produce fewer offspring. Human encroachment causing habitat loss could be forcing them to compete more. I could see this being a type of evolutionary trap, where decreasing populations drive competition higher, resulting in a positive feedback loop that drives population downward.

there is an answer as to why there are fewer babies born when testosterone levels are high: often female has a choice about whether she has her baby or not. high level of male aggression is considered to be an unsafe environment for the newborn, so no. it can also be the cause why more males are born in aggressive environments.

I'm going to answer the testosterone vs willingness and ability to breed question for you because scientists often fail to understand that things that apply to humans still apply to other mammals. If you have too many males with too high of a testosterone level in an environment with able to breed females they will become turned off and their hormonal levels will drop because the male behavior becomes so obnoxious, desperate, violent, pathetic, which ever term applies to the individual that it literally puts the females out of the mood. We need to stop the arrogance of a human centric model where we're the only ones with emotions. serious guys, there is a social world out there bigger than the lab. it's called planet earth.
