Guh, I always had the worst picture of what it might be like to get into Light’s crosshairs. He seems like the kind of guy who’d LOOK at you without SEEING you because he’s in his own head about so many things that the average person doesn’t really register on his radar - he can just do stuff by rote and get along well enough. But to get his real attention for any reason, the intensity of it… I imagine it would feel a lot like being under a magnifying glass that’s narrowing a sunbeam down to a laser pinprick. Crystallized danger. Gives me the heebie-jeebies. Dee minus self preservation instincts out of this listener - would not debate philosophical morality with this particular Yagami! (Also tho I do feel a little tender because Kant is, to use a modern colloquialism, my blorbo. Probably doesn’t help me regard Light very kindly in this case.)
