This project is for Gujarat.. Already Baroda-JNPT 8 lane highway in progress from district of palghar, thane and raigad district from ecosensitive area.. now this project have very less connectivity to other region of Maharashtra.. rather have one highway that connect Surat and Mumbai, Maharashtra already have JNPT port (which has connective to southern and northern region).. so only beneficiary state is Gujarat. mostly Surat. Maharashtra have to bear 26 percent of cost i.e approx 20 Thousand crore.. (Gujarat not paying any penny for this) inshort Indian prime minister thinking about Gujarat

No compensation was given, they were not rehabilitated. JNPT says in its document that only 1000 will provide permanent jobs and rest 5000 to 6000 jobs today, the population here is in lakhs.

The most important criterion are natural sea depths of 20+ m and very little siltation. Vadhavan has a sea depth of 20 m with little siltation. Then location and connectivity to hinterland are important. Western coast is best for trade with Middle East, Africa, Europe and America. Also Maharashtra and Gujurat are very well to the rest of the country through railways and roadways. Do some research before commenting.

Vadhvan comes under Dahanu Taluka, which is Eco sensitive zone, and due to this there is no any industry in dahanu, which is more beneficial to Nearest Boisar and Vapi (Gujrat) and now they are manufacturing hub. Is central government is planning to remove Dahanu from eco sensitive zone?
