Good morning Sir. I just want to add something to your explanation. Like all other poems in Abol Tabol, this one is also a coded riddle to escape being banned as you said. The original name of the poem is 'Gaaner Gunto'. In Bengali, gaan means a song. Gunto means the impact. But here the Bengali word Gaan is an example of pun; it actually means the English word Gun. So the hidden meaning is The Impact of the Gun. This Gun is the German cruiser SMS Emden, a battle ship used in WW I. This batthe ship attacked Madras Harbour on September 22, 1914. The poem was published in 1915 and it represented this deadly event. In Sanskrit, Bhisma means massive or deadly, Lochan means the eye. It’s clear that Bhisma Lochan means the opening of the Canon that the battle ship carried. In fact, it had 22 canons on board. The incident created a massive chaos from Delhi to Burma. The battle ship attack had such a great impact on people that two words, 'emden' and 'yamandan' entered the lexicon of Tamil and Malayalam respectively representing the name of the battle ship, 'Emden'. Now, as for the 'goat' mentioned in the poem, It's the Goat Island in Australia, the home to the Australian battle ship HMAS Sydney. This Sydney destroyed Emden. So this is the historical background of the poem in brief. I leave the rest of the details for your research work.
