Flavacol and the oil is a must for theatre popcorn. u can use any popcorn kernels u choose.

Put the flavacol in a salt shaker and store the rest. Please don't pour out of the container. It's lasted me for more than two years so far.

I used to love my metal popcorn pot with the crank until I discovered the silicone microwave popper. And, you can eat out of it. I use Orville's, flavacol but real butter instead of that processed chemical oil. Set it for 2:30 and come back to perfect popcorn . 🍿

Yes! Recently introduced to flavacol and I love it! I’m kind of a foodie, so I would normally turn my nose up at all this artificial color and flavor, but yeah, it takes me back to my childhood! Used a whirly pop for years, but if you’re feeling extra lazy, try a WP silicone popper.

I would rather not add artificial ingredients to popcorn. I pop it on the stovetop with plain coconut oil, then add melted butter and salt. The coconut oil makes it taste close enough to movie theater popcorn.

Maybe you put too much? I've heard it's very salty so you only need a little, like 1/4 teaspoon to start with. And did you cook your kernels with it incorporated, or did you just sprinkle it on the popcorn after it was popped?

Nope. This is wrong. Sorry. Firstly, you're not using the correct oil, which is pretty much the key thing. Secondly, theaters today do not pop their popcorn, they buy it in bulk where it's made weeks in advance with preservatives that keep it "crisp." You'd have to go back about 25 years to get actual movie theater popcorn, before they discovered how many calories were in the "oil" they used. They experimented with fish oils, but that stunk and turned people off, then they went to canola oil, which is what the big companies use before the preservatives are added.
