These cars were local to me! I remember seeing them pop up on Marketplace. A buddy of mine lived across the street from them and tried to buy them for years. To make the story even more interesting, another Facebook friend of mine recognized these cars as ones he had owned in the 90s and he still had the titles to them.

Great stuff! You remind me of myself. So much random knowledge about Mopars that 99% of people don't care about, lol. I love it. Everything from knowing that if it was an N96 car, it didn't have the holes on the side, to '70 Super Bee rear tail panel color differences (some had only black stripes, some had red and black), to the red stripe on some of the '70 Super Bee grilles. Some say "oh, if you had a 383, it didn't have this!" Truth is, it didn't matter, some got it, some didn't. Anyway, love this video!

I ordered a 69 Super Bee with 383 Magnum, 4 spd, dark green exterior. It was insured as a Dodge Coronet unless you had a Hemi. I don't know what the top speed was, took it to 123, there was more but I didn't think any more was needed, and I might run out of gas.

I question the hood on the 3rd Bee. It should have had what was called a power bulge hood with fake louvers, not the regular Coronet hood which is what is on this barn find. I ordered a 23 car with a 383 Magnum, 4-speed, 3:23 gear, and sure grip new from the factory in September of 68. Got it in November, was stolen 10 months later and replaced with the B5 blue one featured here in my icon. It's a 4-speed post car with ram air, 3:55 gear, fake side louvers (yes, they are fake) and sure grip. We've been together now for 54 years. (AC was not recommended in Bees if one took the stock transmission [4-speed] with a 3:55 or bigger rear end gear.) The full instrument dash had 2 versions: with and without a tach, so you got either tick-tock or tick-tock-tach. I had a tick-tock in both and supplemented with a Sun Super 3-wire tach mounted on the steering column. (It still works.) My clock froze in time at 43 seconds to 6 back around 1973 and hasn't tick-tocked since.

Thanks for this episode, Parker. It's always fun to look at other Super Bees. I found one in a barn a decade or so ago and have loved it ever since. Here's a link to mine being recovered from the barn. Enjoy!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWHUpXR_Z6p-nbs

It would cost at least 10 grand to see what you have. Those cars aren't worth restoring. I rebuilt a 10 grand car that's worth 20 now. But it was clean all the way around.

I had a '68 Coronet 500 in '72. They came more blinged out than the Super Bee(Road Runner) and just as blinged as the R/T (GTX) with blackout front and rear and no post, luxury interior, bling around fender edges. In '69 the 500 got three tail lights, not so the 'Bee. My '68 had chrome accents around the side scallops that Super Bee didn't have. All this to say I would slot the 500 between the Super Bee and R/T where Sport Satellite would sit between Road Runner and GTX. 👀

I used to have a '71 Charger Superbee with 383 4 barrel with 4-speed tranny with pistol grip shifter. It also had a 3.54 positive trac rear-end. It had the raised vacuum actuated forced air hood scoop. It had 2 front bucket seats with console seat in the middle. Full bench seat in the back. No A/C car. Didn't have power brakes. It was yellow. Wish I still had it.

I owned the Mr. Norms 1971 Charger R/T as seen on the Vintage Shade Tree Auto channel. I got very lucky when I found an almost pristine build sheet for that car. It's a 440, pistol grip 4 spd, Dana 3:54 car. The build sheet was tucked up under the carpet, on the driver's side of the trans tunnel. The trans tunnel is different between automatic and 4 spd cars, being the 4 spd tunnel has a higher and more vertical sides. That with the 4 spd console kept the build sheet "high and dry". I also purchased every piece of dealer documentation seen with the car in the video. I usually don't name cars but I did name that one, his name was Brutus. This is one of my favorite channels on KZbin, keep up the awesome work Parker!

All three - very cool ! My question would be : at what point do you decide they are too far gone to restore ? For a lot of people - restoring one of these vehicles is a labor of love and not so much concerned with the amount of money spent. However, what is the top end amount to get these three back on the road ? ...or, do you scavenge parts from all three to build one ? I think, that if someone is dedicated enough - almost anything can be restored. Graveyard Carz kind of helped me realize this. And salute to those that do it !

Very cool cars. I remember my friend's way back. White, Bee stripe, 383, 4speed, some kind of deluxe interior, rusted to dust. lol A bit of a sleeper. Took out the local late 70's T/A one night on the main drag into town, no problem. And with transmission issues! Haha. I don't think he expected the rusty old girl to do much. See ya! lol. Very informative channel. Enjoy your low key, straight forward, delivery too. No obnoxious, rock music or goofy, over the top, style. Thanks.👌

My bestfriend David had a 69 super bee ,it had a 383 4 speed and the side louveres behind the doors. That was a beautiful car and it could get down the road. Thanks for the infor. If the man upstairs ever let's me hit a lottery the first thing I'd buy was a 69 super Bee just like the one he had and surprise him with it

That flat hood on the gold Bee came from another car. The standard hood on the Superbee is the bulge hood. 1969, The optional was a twin scoop ramcharger hood. 69 1/2 Sixpack bees got lift off fiberglass hoods only. All 68-69 Bees were 383 big blocks except for the A12 sixpack cars and the Hemi. 440 4bbl was first available in 1970. In 1971 the 340 became available during the last year of production.
