I know this video is old but everyone suggesting a stump grinder...have you ever thought maybe someone is looking for this best way to do this themselves? I’ve got a stump that is between a foundation and a deck. You’re not getting a stump grinder back there and I’m sure as heII not burning it. I appreciate this video as it gave me an idea...meanwhile a bunch of knuckle dragging lumberjacks want to give this man grief 🙄

That's called the waffle pattern. Break the chunks out with a bar or wedge

as soon as the chain hits the soil it will instantly dull it

Use a couple of old chains to get it done. That’s $60 chain replacement, instead of $200 grind. Plus you get two new chains if the old ones wrecked.

Lot of work but if you got the time more power to you.Ive seen guys drill holes and pour something down them and they rotted away but was told it's a process.

I've tried that and it works for the most part but I have a stump that is really hard and I couldn't knock the pieces out. Guess I'll keep going with the chainsaw till nothings left of the stump.

Don't worry I won't put you out of business. I just had one to do. If I had a lot I would for sure call someone with the heavy machinery.

You still got to use bar oil. I have tried them electric saws and they are trash in my opinion.

In my area, stump grinding starts at $550 per stump. I don't make enough money to pay those kind of highway robbery prices.
@kangarojak8 жыл бұрын
wow, might consider buying one and starting a small business?

That's beyond crazy. That's like a 50 dollar stump.

Grinding a stump is not as easy as people say or think....I have a small hand held grinder and yes I normally get $50 to $100 to grind a 20" stump......I will probably end up with a pto style grinder for the tractor soon since I am reaching my mid 40's......😎

I’ve done stump grinding for years. I got an oak stump in my yard I grinded on for 4 hours and still isn’t gone. Using chainsaw, axe and shovel now. Roots run everywhere and thick.
@justinfleenor30229 жыл бұрын
i could grind that stump at least 8'' deep in like 25 seconds i do applaud your diligence though. ;-)

+Justin Fleenor Thanks my friend. Just had the one and it was soft wood and with the chain saw was fun to do. If I had a lot I would call the professional for sure .
