I've always had such a huge fear of anything that looks like a wasp. The fact that they sting, and do so aggressively, I run away when I hear a leaf rustle on the ground because I think its a wasp or something lol😂, so seeing this guy taking like 5 stings from a yellow jacket is just crazy.

Just got stung by one of those yesterday at the gas station, I was reaching in the my pocket to grab my phone and then a wasp leaped up and stung my hand. I flinched and looked at it in confusion, my dad killed it with his hat. Didn’t scream, didn’t cry, just felt bothered. I knew exactly what it was, it didn’t die after stinging me. The stinger didn’t get stuck, it just got me. Right now it’s swollen and itchy, Coyote taught me about these wasps. Thanks Coyote!

My little 6 year old boy got stung yesterday on his finger trying to “save it” because it couldn’t fly. Had a good freak out. An out hour later with a super swollen finger he’s already back to catching and saving bugs. Now this morning he goes right back out to help save more wasps lol. Ive got a story about yellow jackets. I forgot when/where this happened, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I used to be in a native school where we speak the language and learn about the language as well. One day we were going into the mountains to look for some berries, chill afterwards, eat some s’mores, all that good stuff. But this trip didn’t go to well after one of the teachers or students dug into a yellow jacket nest, and swarmed all of us. We quickly got out of the woods and checked if anyone was okay. My little brother almost got stung, but he was fine. The only kid that got stung the most was a young 3rd grader, who got stung 5 times. Worst part about that was he was allergic to the stings. So we canceled all the plans we had that day, got the kid to a hospital, healed him up, and went home. That kids doing fine now. That was my story about our yellow jacket experience.

I'd always heard that yellow jackets and paper wasps were different. Paper wasps are larger with yellow antennae, dangly legs, and build open cell nests under structures, while yellow jackets are smaller, more obnoxious in their flight, build their nests in the ground or hollow areas like attics and inside walls, and have tucked up wings in flight and black antennae.

I live in Michigan, the neighbor state to Ohio, yellowjackets and paper wasps infest nearly everywhere. They are everywhere. At my old elementary school, they made a nest in the preschool playground. And they were everywhere. There were also these weird dark brown wasps, I don't know what they were called. It probably didn't help that there was a lady who was selling honey at a god damn bee farm.
