That was a really nice Custom floor. Whoever installed it did a great job all those years ago. Thanks for watching.

What are your thoughts on mega vs traffic hd? And which cut in pad do you use!
@richsadventures18893 жыл бұрын
Hi David, we use all 3, Mega, Traffic, and Traffic HD. They all apply about the same. HD Being the higher quality. We use the duratool applicators.

@@richsadventures1889 thanks Rich! Your work is wonderful, I have watched a lot of your stuff so far. I am in the process of refinishing our RO 1948 floors. And using traffic HD. Looks like you float fill a lot of your floors, any issues with old houses that have seasonal movement and those cracks opening up? I’m thinking I’ll fill any large gaps with wood and leave the others open. Looks like your up in Washington? I’m below in Salem Oregon. Cheers!

I have had great luck with the Woodwise latex filler. Let it dry over night for larger gaps. Expansion/contraction is not really an issue with older floors as long as the humidity doesn't change drastically.

@@richsadventures1889 nice, I will also be over hauling my crawl space with near full encapsulation and a dehumidifier to keep the humidity consistent.

what seal coat did you put down before using the bona water based? I didnt know you could mix poly and water based.. gives me some ideas
@richsadventures18893 жыл бұрын
Hey Levi, we just started using a hi bread finish. Its Glitsa grean lable sanding sealer. You can put water base over swedish, but no swedish over water base.
@davidiliyn3 жыл бұрын
@@richsadventures1889 interesting! Any reason vs bona sealer? I see Giltsa is a Rudd company, which is what I use for wood spray finish’s. Love them.
@richsadventures18893 жыл бұрын
Hi David, the Swedish sealer is much more toxic, but easier, and more forgiving to work with.

What type of wood filler do you use? does it ever crack out over the years as the boards shift?
@richsadventures18893 жыл бұрын
We use Woodwise latex filler, it fills, and bonds really well. If the floor has loosened up, and has a lot of movement, or large gaps it may crack out over several years.
