Absolutely awesome! I was 17 in 1984 and wanted so badly to have a YZ as a kid, dating back to the mid-70's and the Hurricane Hannah days. Mom and Dad could neither afford (nor would they allow) such hooliganism. Now, I live vicariously through my 14 year old son and we have a MX track right in our back yard. Thank you for your videos. They are very nostalgic and bring back fond memories of these great bikes! Have you ever come across any of the Suzuki PE bikes?

I bought one brand new in 1984, the YZ 490 was a very nice bike except for the suspension which needed a front fork Simons anti-cav kit, stiffer springs and a Ohlins rear shock which set you back about a grand, but other than that it was a beast on and off the MX track 💪☝️🔥 !

My buddy used to have a yellow YZ 490 years ago. He went down in the desert out here in Vegas and broke the brittle plastic tank with his arm . He was hurt and ended up leaving the bike in the middle of the desert . I had to ride his big ass all the way back to the truck on my 1998 KX 250 that was in beautiful condition 🙂 ! I ended up calling my other friend , told him where the bike was located and he went and got the bike lol . My buddy fixed the bike and ended up trading it for a lifted 4x4 truck , what an insane trade right .
