STUNNING BFS REEL!!! The LINGL... New budget BFS KING???

Not sure if you've seen my vids on my LingL yet but I've had a few issues but nothing keeping me from buying another one for a rod I have in mind.. My reel has a 7.8g spool and was basically dry so I had to grease the gears.. also spool tolerance is an issue but although I can feel and see 2lb test almost going in-between the spool and frame it hasn't actually went all the way through yet.. seems to me it's right there close.. anyway the only other issue that has popped up it the top piece where your thumb rests while palming was starting making a creaking noise every once in a while.. while I had it apart greasing it I did glance at the top plate and saw that it just snaps on too with little plastic clips basically so they could become an issue.. if they fail I plan on just gluing mine on since it's purely cosmetic and you don't need to take it off to service the reel.. Anyway keep up the good work.. I have issues with the BKII as well but I'll talk about that on that video later ..

The only problem that I see with going lighter and lighter with the spools is if they remain in tolerance. Hooking a large fish, or trying to unsnag your line could stress and deform the aluminum ruining the reel. Time and experience will tell if this is a problem as the spools go down in weight. A case of diminishing returns and trade offs.

Hi, very supprised that you review this reel. I know the boss of LINGL well, he's from 盛河(SHENG HE)company. Generally speaking, LINGL is not as good as CLAMBER hm06 reel. of course, LINGL is cheaper too. And SHENG HE company is developing a new reel better than LINGL which will be available end of 2021. I will keep you updated.

Have you tested the Lingl Versatile reel . It looks a copy of their Lingl BFS except higher ratio. Wondering if BFS spool will fit in Versatile. Ordered one Versatile still have not received it. Should have it this week.

The shimano Aldebaran spool is heavier because of the longer steel spool shaft; however, given how close that mass is to the axis of rotation, I would argue that that mass is almost meaningless as it won’t contribute anything noticeable to the rotational inertia of the spool during a cast. It probably is about level with the lingl spool for that and the better tolerances, bearings and brakes should be the performance difference. Of course, those are also the price difference.

Once again we get a enjoyable and educational video. Thank you!! I've owned my Lingl for a few months now and I'm curious to see how you like it. My on the water time with it has been alright. I think a bearing upgrade would complete this reel. Overall they are getting closer to JDM performance for much less money. Fit and finish is still a bit of an issue but again for the price paid it's always fun playing with something new. Let me know how it goes for you.

Bluegill do taste good if you filet them. The skin will make them taste fishy. I must disagree with your Mom though, crappie are mild and light slightly sweet tasting. In Louisiana they are called sac-au-leit (sack of milk) . Everyone has their opinion of course but many of us believe sac-au-leit are the best tasting fresh water fish. I am sure you have tried both, . What do you think? I promise I won’t tell your Mom 😁

I’m kinda programmed to really swing for the fences, I have yet to find a caster for a lighter/finesse I’m completely comfortable with (mental issues I guess). Anymore the lightest lure I toss around is 1/4 oz in total.
