Just a side note Kyle said at the auction that he liked a lot of the horses but in the end “the one” wasn’t there. He can get whatever horse he wants. Kyle is a car guy which is why we purchased him a C3 corvette this spring! He only rides a few times a year so wants to get a horse he enjoys riding when he’s with me but ultimately he doesn’t want a “forever” or just “his own” horse. He isn’t a horse crazy guy but he is the best husband in the world which is why we support his car hobby with parts and hot rods! Lol ❤❤

Build is extremely important in horses and so is height, there’s nothing wrong with choosing a horse based on these attributes. But it’s also good to make sure the horse has a good temperament too.

I’m so impressed with the way you weigh all of the important issues that come along with having a horse. Level of training is actually very important especially if you are not a trainer. The horses in the auction as the most well-behaved group of beautiful and clean horses I have ever viewed on KZbin. The ease they have shown at being handled by a stranger is remarkable, in particular with them all being in a new place. I really hope that you film this action every year from your home area. Of course, the horses all feel the affinity of love that you give tt them as well. I grew up with farming and ranching, and although I am many decades away from that beloved life, I so appreciate your creating this channel for us to be a part of. I had to sell my own personal horse that I had waited all of my life for from our mare right after she was completely trained and had served as a pony horse for my uncle's thoroughbreds who raced and showed, due to needing to have the braces on my teeth paid for. It broke my heart and still does all of these years later, so I really feel for the young lady who had to sell her personal horse. She will likely never know about my comment here, however, if you can, please let her know that my heart goes out to hers. She was the filly of our dam that was black with a white blaze and four white stockings registered quarter horse Indian mare and my Uncle's registered thoroughbred stallion sire. Our horses worked our cattle on the home place and of course up on the range. I loved seeing all of the beautiful horses and the time that you took to examine and to provide some explanation as to why each horse would be appropriate for your own horse operations needs, as well as risk assessment. All horses do better if they don't have to be changed out with owner/operators on a frequent basis, due to their not being a suitable fit in the end. Horses require a fit where they can be adequately taken care of financially and emotionally, they are not stuffed toys that can be put on a shelf to admire. They are living, breathing, beings, social creatures that need companionship in all of its forms. OHHH, did I YEARN to be there in person to meet all of these beautiful equines, I certainly hope that they were all able to find a home where they could be happy and healthy and appreciated all around.

That hematoma is no big deal. My horse had one just like it. They recover sound when given a little time off. It doesn’t even need to be drained most of the time. Sad that people throw them away when they have such a simple issue.

There is a reason he sold for $650. He was a stud I want a filly, he is way to small for what I’m looking for, and I was concerned about all of his pink skin in the long run. He was cute but I’m not going to just buy whatever weanling I see. It’s not just for Ezzy, the weanling would be to raise and train. If I’m waiting years I want the horse to be the right one!

When you walk by I can see from 65 years of fascination with horse flesh. The horses are curious interested in you too. . I agree the gunmetal blue has the goods. When I was a child we had a swayback Blue Mare and a dozen blue tic hounds. Often four of us kids would ride her together. She never seemed to notice ...if we didn't keep her going she'd just stand and graze on what ever she could reach. She seemed to be obvious we were even there. She only became unruly when we turned her head home. All you could do was to hang on just hang on! When we got close to the coral she'd try to brush you off on the fence or the wall of the barn. Seemed to be saying I'm off the clock get off!

Some really nice horses at this auction. The Friesen cross was good for a horse that could carry weight, with a good nature, and a color that will stand up in the sun. I realize that over the years we have to keep 'global warming' on our list of concerns when we buy horses. Not too much white that will need to be covered at least half the year under a blanket! I liked the blue roan but would have preferred a little more slope to the shoulder for a riding horse. It is important to look for that combination of darker colors and a shoulder and croup that aren't too 'drafty' to ride comfortably. Thanks for taking us along to the sale. The horses were really good riding stock and in excellent condition so thanks to the excellent auction barn staff too!
