My horse, who I had for 25 years, from the time he was 5 until he passed at 30, was black with a star like that, and it broke my heart to see that sweet guy begging to be saved. I wish I could afford another horse....

I didn’t see a single water trough. I may have missed it but I feel they should have access to water at least 😢 hay should be there too. 😢 So sad. I want to rescue them all!!

Standardbreds make excellent riding horses. They have great hooves and good minds. These low prices make me sad. That means they are in the price range of the shippers.

I wish more people would give Standardbreds a chance. They are wonderful, honest horses that can do almost any job any other horse can do. They are kind and sweet . So many are shipped to slaughter.

😢 I'm not projecting human emotions onto the horses but you can see in the expression of the eyes some of them look really depressed and others look really worried and concerned it's so sad to see horses disregarded like this and not looked after for all of their life into a good home

It absolutely is extremely difficult to watch these. Knowing what happens especially to the ones going cheap, we know where they’re going. This is why horse breeding should be controlled, people pay ludicrous amounts of money for mehhh horses. Honestly i did not see any of quality at all. While people continue to pay these crazy high prices people will continue to overbreed low quality horses for money.

Yes, I thought there were many that had dead eyes. One of the first Belgians was described as too old to work and and never been off the farm. I can guess where they’re going to end up instead of being taken care of in their old age. This makes me particularly upset. I expect most of the horses there are in the same position.

Some really nice horses at this auction. The Fjord crosses looked like solid horses. Glad you guys are enjoying the truck. The property hunt is tough but I can see what you are looking for as far as future needs. Room for growth & expansion. You are smart in the way you are doing this. I get so sad seeing these auctions, because back when I was 16, my grandma dumped my 2 beloved horses at the auction and never even let me say goodbye. She was punishing me for being very busy with high school and athletics afterwards. I know they probably ended up at the slaughterhouse, and it makes me cry over 30 years later. And we had 250 acres of land, so it’s not like the horses were a burden. There was plenty of grass and water in the stock tanks for them year round.😢

Nice you viewed a real estate prospect!! If looking, best bet is to look outside of Michigan really. Ohio could be nice, but Indiana is super nice too, they even send property tax refunds if they have extra! I have friends in Indiana, they all love it, cheaper too on plates, DL fees, etc, and other nice advantages as well as property will appreciate better too. Good luck!😊

Wow, each auction was so different. Yesterday's was better. Today's, with the horses crammed in the stalls, makes it difficult to initially look them over. I get overwhelmed when things are like that; I can't think clearly (same goes for clothing stores with clothes piled up; I have to leave). The handsome black Percheron X from yesterday is one that sticks out in my mind. It was something about his presence. 🐴,❤️

I don’t know how you manage to not buy some of these beautiful horses? My question is what happens to them if they don’t sell? Do they go back to their owners, or managed until they sell? So many great looking and great variety of horses. That nervous baby boy/girl that Kyle was able to calm and the gorgeous giant with the knob legs really hit my heart. I hope the baby went to a good place. But when I saw the sale price for the big one, yeah, hit my heart. Dang, those Fjord girls were pretty things, but no trailer present, no buy likely. I keep hoping that one day, one of the horsie channels I watch will have a pleasant surprise vid featuring a new Fjord/Fjord cross addition to the home herd. I think they are such uniquely beautiful horses.
