Whenever you land in NZ - don´t waste your time in Auckland. Booked 3 nights in Auckland from overseas before my arrival. All the other backpackers there laughed at me for that move :D Go down for Taranaki and South Island :)

lovely video. Shows that no matter how bad your flight in the plane you only need to look out the window to get some enjoyment in the bigger scale of things. The natural beauty is impressive being NZ of course but for a geek the wing extension and RR engine look great too. Would be interesting to compare if anyone did a 16mm cine roll in the 70's on how Auckland has changed.....

Those Trent engines are so quiet. Lovely to see the RR logo on the engine cowling, one of Britain's proudest and most technologically-advanced products. Only two countries in the world can produce engines for big jets and we're one of 'em.
@racketman2u3 жыл бұрын
you mean the engines that fell to bits on the 787, which RR have yet to compensate airlines for?
@sugoidessho3 жыл бұрын
@@racketman2u It was a Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engine that exploded on a United 777 yesterday over Colorado. Despite that rare occurrence I would still call PW "Dependable Engines" as their motto goes. Occasional accidents happen with all engine makes the same with airframe makers (e.g. Boeing and the 737 MAX) so let's leave engine nationalism out of this. The world is a better place with competition including aviation and a choice of engine makers, be it RR, PW, GE and others. Rolls-Royce has been building aircraft engines since 1914 and have powered some of the most iconic aircraft ever built, including the Spitfire, De Havilland Mosquito, Lancaster and Vulcan bombers, Concorde and most models of big jets be they Boeing or Airbus. The overpowered 757 with RB211s ("the hot rod from Seattle") was a pilot's favorite. Just ask them.

Excellent video Paul! Which do you prefer the 787 or A350 to fly in, regardless of airline? Fantastic channel LIKED and Subscribed! Thank you!
@PaulStewartAviation8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim. No preference really. Both are fantastic aircraft. I suppose the A350 is still a novelty, but I suppose the 787 is a bit older and hence more tested.
@aaronhilsz-lothian46377 жыл бұрын
Well I've flown in both from the same airline (Qatar) and I'll tell you that the 787 is quiet on takeoff but for the cruise and landing it it pretty annoying with the high pitched whine. As for the A350, it is perfection during cruise and landing and has an amazing sound on takeoff. Both are nice aircraft but the A350 imo is better to fly on.
@max-_-63527 жыл бұрын
I flew the 787 and their was no high pitched whine at all. Best option to sit over the wing to get rid of some of the noise. That's what I did :D
@q.taylor29217 жыл бұрын
I'm so jealous of all of you. 13 hip operations in 11 years has grounded me...unable to work, make $, therefore travel...but I will be getting onboard both of thoae aircraft soon, I hope. After another hip op(not to be confused with 'hip hop') next week, of course! Lol. Last flight I took was in 2006, I believe...Air Canada B777 Vancouver-Toronto. Loved it!! Not too many domestic flights around the world use the heavies...I was greatful on that day.

@PaulStewartAviation7 жыл бұрын
Nope there's certainly quite a bit of flex in the A350 and A380 wings. Check out this video and you'll see the wing flex on takeoff: kzbin.info/www/bejne/en2npZ17d9N_bc0
@aaronhilsz-lothian46377 жыл бұрын
Every aircraft has to have wing flex otherwise things would snap off. It depends on the conditions of surrounding environment and how the wing has been constructed. Some will show more flex than others but the wings and engine pylons do still move around quite a lot,
