It’s very nice. I sure prefer that sisal rug over the patterned ones. In a large room I believe plain is best as pattern dictates furniture placement. I bet the room looks fabulous in reality

yes, I was thinking of sisal or something else like seagrass or coconut matting before they came up with the solution; one can always place a few small rugs, dhurries or kilims for a change; easily removable

I love hearing actual interior designers discuss their thoughts process and choices. A lot of these new tv shows have home renovators doing their own designing and saying things like “pop of color with a painted accent wall” that don’t have any actual design principles.

Something is off (20:06 and 20:16) - the sconces do not appear to be equidistant from the side walls, and while the art is centered between them it is not centered over the sofa. Additionally, the three pieces of art that were brought in are all large, single pieces. It would have been better to have kept the set of three smaller prints that, at one point, were shown above the mantle.

I just realized this is the same house for which Sarah designed the dining room with William Morris dark green wallpaper. I liked the dining room, but it doesn't seem to flow with the living room. Also, the living room seems to be a haphazard mix of furnishings and the off-center spacing of the sofa doesn't work in this application. All in all, this is not one of Sarah's best rooms. I'm guessing that many of the elements changed post-production when the budget allowed.

What I love: the pastel "madras" pillow covers in the sunroom; the over-sofa art and wall sconces; the fireplace surround; the hand-painted texture. What I don't like: the chaise, the tiny table between the easy chairs, the void in front of the fireplace! That arrangement does not truly feature the fireplace.

"The walls need texture. There's too much beige. That piece reads more Victorian and we are going more traditional. That yellow picks up too much pink and green." These are the things constantly said on this show and I never know what the heck they are talking about. All I know is the finished product always looks stunning! WHY do clients believe they know how to pull a room together -- organize a vignette, arrange an elevation/setting -- achieve executing ANYTHING in interior design solution, when they're not professional designers, not gifted at design, hence, HIRING a pro???? Clients pull this stunt in every creative endeavor. Is it ego, or a need to assert control? Self-expression? Would you suggest to your heart surgeon, "How about this alternative way of operating on my diseased heart? My wife + I collaboraborated over wine on it, last weekend. We think we have a great solution!" Yeah, no. I'm getting the distinct impression professional interior designers use "pipes", not water pipes, but just hollow metal tubes, in super long stock, cut to size for each and every window they treat. Hence, the "pipe-cutters" mentioned by Tommy? My question: So, finials do come separately -- do they all fit securely, somehow, onto said metal rods?

Sarah paints out every bloody piece of wood she sees. I HATE that part of her aesthetic!! Yeesh. I honestly found this a genetic ….boring. The floor was -great!! In that poppy red, which she could have used as a unique take-off design point. Particularly liked the chaise …but the fails included the drab other texture-less fabrics on boring colors, and the wall hangings which were uniquely dreadful.

I do not understand spending that sort of money on the fireplace then not having seating that says we like it. For a wood burning stove to heat a room one needs a glass door and fan..just sayin. Not a fan of the conversation area across from the chaise...whose going sit in those dining room chairs for long? It seems the measurements were off and the "one thing that can stay in the room didn't. Oh and the chevage shots this entire season featured--TACKY.
