I used to live along a river in the North Cascades for 25 years and was able to see every animal that lived there. I finally got to see the elusive Lynx. I heard a noise on the front porch and went to the door to see a lynx stepping off the corner of the porch (a 2 foot drop). The cat walked off the porch he didn't leap and he strolled across the yard into the forest. I watched him the entire time. What a chill creature and beautiful to look at! The one I saw was more mottled with salmon colored areas across it's magnificent body! It walked with swinging hips, reminding me of Mae West!

Haha, my experience was the opposite. I just commented: "I once had the pleasure of seeing a lynx on my own property. We just stumbled on each other. It was so quick though! He or she took off in a flash." I live in the South San Juan Mountains in SE Colorado, very close to the Continental Divide.

on fishing trips to canada i have seen 4 lynx. 2 were only a few yards away. they are beautiful. gray wolves are also beautiful as i have seen a few of them up close.
