After the severe winter of 2022-2023 I saw 3 deer total last year on my northern Mn property. So far this year I have yet to see a Deer. Mn DNR studies show a 65% Moose Calf mortality in the first year due to predators in NE MN.
@shanelizotte63182 ай бұрын
I’m not surprised. We have large coyote wolf hybrids here in Northern Maine that do alot of the same. I’ve seen winters of up to 80% deer mortality from a combination of a severe winter and coyote predation. Our moose population suffers from a different detriment, winter ticks. I’ve seen calf kills of up to 90% from winter ticks during harsh winters.
