After watching several of these KZbin videos of inside the cockpit, I have a profound appreciation for the incredible complexity that is involved in Flying these new planes. I never realize just how difficult and complicated it can be with the massive instrumentation and flight panels above, in front, and the flight controls that are closer to the rudder controls. I will never underestimate the pilots and their need to run through their checklist and make sure the aircraft is ready to fly. I cannot imagine what it is like to be in the cockpit. The videos give the general public incredible insight into what goes down in the preflight checklist. Congratulations to these pilots and their willingness to be videotaped and then have that video be seen by millions of viewers!!!!

Awesome guys, I am a ex Paramedic in the UK (Was born in Hong Kong, Dad was RAF, MUM family was in British Army)..ALWAYS had a passion for anything Aeronautical but circumstances did not allow me to pursue a career in the thing I loved! however now at age 60 retired early with ill health (spine i jury) and developed a love of Computers and tech (incidentally did a stint on squirrel Police helicopter as a paramedic too!) Anyway I now have built (well still work in progress) my own generic flight simulator running FSX, X-plane and DCS. Loved watching this video as it 'Humanises' these guys who are almost viewed as Demigods....( well are to me anyway) and I like how not only the general chat their history in aviation to even the technical side! So I never reached my dream (although to be fair I did love being a Paramedic too) but due to the incredible technical home computer equipment that we have today, I now regularly 'Fly' various aircraft but the favourite is Landing at Kai tak, Hong Kong in a 747 400 (Last time I took off from Kai tak in 'real life' was in 1966 on way to UK in a BOAC 707! Anyway Sorry to give life story..please keep these fascinating insight into the coolest job in the world coming! (and thanks Pilots; F. O. Chris (good name!) and Captain Rikard, safe journeys!

Great motivational video. Thank you both for sharing your life story as for how your first desires to fly came to play and how things transpired throughout the years to where you both are today flying the Boeing 777F. I truly wish I was not 45 yrs of age already and if I were back in my early 20's I would for sure be chasing my dreams to be a pilot. My grandfather was retired from USAF as a Col. flying for 31 years, I remember always being so intrigued by all his flight stories he would share with me as a young boy and young man growing up. Every year he and I would go the LAFB to attend all the flight shows together and I will always be blessed and thankful for the memories he has given me. I find myself always watching videos like this and I immediately feel as if my grandfather is close by watching with me. Thank you guys again for sharing this with youtube. Stay safe and take care.

I was really impressed by the captain's words: if the times are bad to become a pilot and to be hired, then times will change at some point. You just have to stick to it. Especially during the pandemic, these are very motivating words. I'm 16 and I'm doing next year my Abitur. My dream is to become a pilot, and I hope that the way leading there will soon be possible again. I will definitely try my best to get there.

I work for Memphis International Airport in Airport Operations. I wanted to fly F15s for the Air Force as a boy. I started my flight lessons at 21 and paid for them by cleaning small aircraft. Unfortunately, as you said Captain, sometimes a health issue keeps you from flying. That is what happened to me. However, I ended up working for the airlines in ground positions and then, later, handling airport operations at an airport. As FO Chris states, keep pushing until you achieve your dream job, and if your health stops you, keep pushing to find something in that same field of work that you can do. You will always love your work and know you tried your best to achieve your dreams. This is a wonderful video gentlemen. I am certain you are inspiring many young fliers! Great job and thanks for the candid talk about your careers and your aircraft !

Next time you're in the Austin Texas airport, look for the display of a 777 engine fan blade in the main terminal. It's mounted on a pedestal. On first glance it looks like a piece of fine art. You can get right up on it and touch it. They are manufactured in a nearby city (San Marcos TX). A super cool thing to look at up close.

Great time on this flight with you both... hearing your stories.... When I was a little girl my dad was in the RCAF....electronics and radar tech...groundcrew his older brother..my uncle also... navigation....dad went around the world in a Hercules when i was a baby...and when I was little at the airshow on the base he told me the big plane was asleep in the hanger...so i would go with him to see....then when i was about 13...he changed up and after 14 yrs in the military took his half pension and entered university...and retired after his studies... anthropology.... Anyway, It would be an improvement if those who lead nations or aspire to be head of state... experienced the discipline, responsibilities and team work of the pilot! You guys are pretty cool...the travel, the calculations...the gears...and the amazing machines you pilot through the goddamn air! Side note: Teachers teach...but pilots FLY!
