You made the right call on comparing him and Cousins. They're sort of like alternate universe versions of each other. Cousins had the right program and people around him and (mostly) kept his cool off court and has more focus.

Great feature as always. It’s sad to learn what happened with him. I played hs basketball in LA and played against him when he was at Artesia high and he was the most talented player on his team even as a sophomore. Even crazier is that James Harden was a senior on that same team and I can still confidently say that. Sidney was cold!

Another case of if NIL existed, He wouldn’t have faced half the problems he did. Attitude aside, the worse thing that happened to him was the year suspension due to the benefits. Had he just played, he would’ve rode the momentum all the way to the NBA.

I knew this kid coming up. My brother Andre Stringer played in the same area in Mississippi. I actually think he was at his best during his 9th and 10th grade years. He hadn't put on that weight he was quick, Mobile, Good Size, with a great touch around the basket. Such a great talent that was just mismanaged.

I liked snears game a lot! He showed out at the mcdy all star dunk contest & game tho! 1st time I started looking at Inland empire IE cats different! Then of course Khwai would follow. But this dude was Uber skilled quick & athletic. He was all acc almost every year I believe.. what happened to dude!? Surely he must have been drafted or at least given a shot (thru summer league). He, like many, probably should have went pro after 1st year at fsu (or y did he commit there n 1st place?.. such a football only school back then).

I saw the video when you first posted it 5 months ago you’re spot on. I remember seeing him in the McDonald’s All American game and his time at Mississippi State aka that school in Starkville. I was like damn what happened to Renardo then I was like hold up I think we’re still friends on Facebook. Sure enough we were he does security now in LA for certain celebrities and certain parties in the city glad to see he’s doing well but definitely a huge “What IF”!!!!

Saw him play in person in high school when he was at Artesia High School. They played Loyola High. James Harden was a senior, Malik Storey a junior. Sidney was a sophomore and the best player on the court.

Amazing and rare highlights from his high school days: Fairfax, Artesia. How did you find them? I think he peaked after 8th grade. Around freshman and soph seasons in high school. Baby Shaq. I hardly ever seen someone 6'10 260 with his touch. On the other hand dont put all the blame on his mom Patricia and make her a villain. As i know she always stood behind Renardo and helps him and luvs him till this day. He did not get to the League but his mom still loves him no matter what. What is he doing in 2024? Was over hyped at Fairfax high school , I went to see him play personally , large guy soft touch , but wasn’t a great athlete and was overweight and once he started getting money it was over , throwing a lazy uninspired young an with no knowledge of self is gonna end bad , you have to have the drive , god given size won’t cut it

I feel the main issue with all of these players is people do that "reminds me of *insert player with similar ethnicity/body type*" Like Julius Randle was almost ruined by that, now he runs the point sometimes because coaches actually wantes to use him differently

JC: Do 1 on another Fairfax younger talent & socal legend engrained in folklore in LA: 6”6 shooting guard “Evan Burns” (2002) my class or better yet the 2nd best big behind amare who could handle & shoot tho.. D’Angelo collins!! He has a podcast on KZbin w a church on air lady where he discusses a lot of what he went through as a child. & Ty so much 4 this drop! A miss & SoCal legend RS. Dude was definitely along the classic label (2 good/2big/2early!!!!).. a “manchild” so to speak, Ala the #1 SoCal legend: Schea cotton! No but RS probably could & should have tried to go pro after the 10th grade. Yuhp some similarities w him & Schea such as that! Schea obviously a Guard & more talented imo. RS was definately a big back to basket but could square up game & handle as video shows in his early years coming from miss.
