Obviously the K20 is brutal with the said mods but Swifter GTi on itsel with the 1.3 DOHC is suuuch a fun car, I bought one couple months and puts smile on my face everytime I drive it.

I have a 1987 in my driveway. 1.0 3cyl @ a lot of psi on propane with a choppy cam and ALLLL the timing and now another blown head gasket. Shocker. I'm probably going to emulate this build next. I was thinking of a super turbo build but I just cant keep a head gasket to hold together for that. I'm also eyeing a 200hp+ hyabusa setup but I think Honda has more of the Kahunas that i need.

It's quite a task to jump into something this high strung and run such a quick time. I'd definitely want to get those belts squared away, if they are coming off when just driving I'd hate to see what happened if you really needed them. Also, I would highly recommend some sort of HNRS device for as much time as you spend on the track. Basilar skull fractures sound like no fun at all. $600 is a small price to pay to keep your skull attached to your spine. It only took me a couple of sessions to get used to my Necksgen Rev 2 Lite, now I hardly notice it. Rotrex boosted cars are great on track. They have such a linear powerband, just as you described. Every time you put your foot down you get the same immediate response. There is a definite fun factor to turbocharged cars, but when you are trying to keep a car balanced on the limit I find that predictable and linear power is the way to go. Great driving, and as always, great video!

Really not trying to be that guy here but dude, if you’re going to be driving a car like that you need a Hans. Im a pro driving instructor by profession and I will not get into a race car without wearing a neck restraint. I’ve known a couple instructors in the industry that have been killed by not wearing a restraint. As someone that drives a lot of my clients cars, I know that you never go 10/10ths or take any risks. Regardless, in cars like this that really push the limits it’s so easy for something to go wrong that’s not even driver fault. As I’m sure you know. At those speeds the one wrong hit can be a serious injury or worse. There’s plenty of KZbin videos that demonstrate this(search Hans vs no Hans crash). I don’t mean to be negative, just want to bring your awareness to a serious safety matter. I love your videos and I think you do awesome work! You guys build awesome cars, are extremely knowledgeable and seem like all around great people. If you have any interest doing a track day in the northeast, Watkins Glen probably being the closest, I operate a hpde organization and it would be great to host you guys there. Look forward to seeing more videos! Hopefully with a Hans in them 😉. My recommendation is the Simpson Hybrid Hans. It’s what I personally wear. It works with both harnesses and a 3 point as well. I’d be happy to help set you up with one if needed.

We just took my mates 500hp Rotrex Supercharged K20 Type-R to 3 Sisters circuit in Wigan last weekend- majority forged internals in the K20 so they were fine, but we fried the supercharger after only 3 laps. It's been on for a few years but this was first time it was tracked as far as we know (car came to us last year with charger installed). Oil circulation had failed and charger internals seized. Careful what you do with your Rotrex, they do not seem as sturdy as the K20s they are attached to. My pal looked as if he was going to go and hang himself afterwards hahahahaha

I used to daily drive all year long a turbocharged swift gti, stock motor except pistons, a nodded gearbox and clutch.. It put around 240bhp, revved 9.800 rpm and shot flames like crazy.. After six years I decided to let it go, since I didn't get killed!!!

This could be that both the engine and supercharger start peaking their efficiency. Honda motors have a lot of power up high, and the Rotrex blowers make like 1-1.5psi per 1000 rpm.

Wow! can't believe the sticker only knocked a second and a half of the lap time! That big of a speed academy decal should've been good for at least 50whp! You guys might want to check the decal for peeling or fading because it seems to be making a lot less power than it should. I honestly don't know why Kevin didn't just go for a twin decal setup and ditched the supercharger, he probably would've gotten a much better HP/weight ratio.

This is insane. I remember getting my first and only speeding ticket in a Suzuki Swift GT while driving on a country road. The officer was kind enough to lie and tack on an extra 8 mph to double the fine. It blows my mind because I was afraid to go 81 mph. I didnt think it was possinle in yhat car lol.

The car looked very unsettled over some of the bumps from the in car footage. Particularly going onto the main straight. Looked like you could have planted it so much earlier if the car was settled and not skittering over the bumps.
