My favourite e-mail I received from a scammer was one informing me I had died and left myself millions. I was bloody surprised by that as I only had a couple of hundred quid in the bank at the time. Of course it is possible it was an e-mail from the future and I've done myself out of a fortune.

I saw a Nigerian scam in action back in the day. Their story was that they were a high ranking employee in the Nigerian oil business. They had supposedly been siphoning away money and needed a foreign company to help launder the money. But, of course, they needed financial help in order to make it happen. My (then) boss fell for it completely, communicated with them and was super excited. I had to talk him out of it. I lost a lot of respect for him that day. If someone offers you a deal that's too good to be true, it's a scam 99.99% of the time. Don't be a sucker.

I've spearheaded bankruptcy proceedings to a former client who gave away € 7 million of investors' money because this gold mine in Tanzania was going to ship the gold to him any day now... He had the money because of an already overpriced and somewhat rotten real estate portfolio that could be developed. But once the money for development stopped, so did any chance of it increasing in value. The bubble popped for a good 28 million in losses plus another 600K fees from advisors such as myself. From his refuge in Dubai (one of the major creditors hired few hitmen) the guy keeps assuring everybody that 'the gold will come soon'. I'm not sure if he's legit that dumb or just calling to rub it in, but I've had to block his number. I lost 60K, would've been 72K without a bit of friendly backoffice intimidation resulting in cash payments from other people's money.

"No extradition treaty" does not mean that they can't extradite you. It just means the two countries don't have a pre-arranged agreement on extradition. If the country you are in does not want to shield you, even if there is no extradition treaty, then you are out of luck.

The scary part is that I knew someone that had met this guy (or had connections to him) most Of Nigerians usually go to Dubai for business opportunities while others tend to have not so good plans. He was knew alot of bigwigs but once they asked what his job was everyone would go 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♀️, it was only until he was caught that it spread like wild fire and everyone knew who he was. He also was connected to the police back here and would pay to have rival and/or partner scammers silenced or beaten up.

Wanna know something even scarier (for scammers IN Nigeria) There’s a community initiative over there that brutally executes Nigerian scammers. If you find out their identities and out them to one of these initiatives they will be killed within a few days. Nigerian scammers do it in hopes of fleeing the country before they get outed by a victim. That’s why they’re so obvious in their formatting - they aim for oblivious individuals and actively do it to root out intelligent people, because if one intelligent person outs them, they’re done.

I've followed this case since his arrest in 2020 and am just fascinated by it. It's really fascinating how they finally caught him, the picture at 11:46 of him flashing the Rollie in the Mickey Mouse Tshirt was what finally nailed him (the watch not the shirt haha). He scammed a Emirati businessman who was trying to setup a school and then had the funds wired to a watch dealer. Then they tracked that watch back to Hushpuppi.

Was thinking the same thing, Dubai is a known sanctuary for MLM scammer, so did some research. His arrest was due to involvement in a scam in Qatar. This is fairly close to Dubai and I bet some of the government officials work together. Another thing, around $40 million was confiscated and I bet Dubai got to keep that money as a reward for cooperation with the USA.

Dubai doesn't lift a finger. He ran a scam inside one of the other emirates so he broke the cardinal rule of not scamming an Arab while being non-Arab. That's literally the only thing Dubai cares about. There's a guy hiding there who owes me 60K and owes all creditors in excess of 18 million. Not to mention the Netherlands having to pay money to Dubai before they extradited mass murderer Redouan Taghi. "This guy is a drug criminal responsible for 40+ murders" is not something that bothers Dubai.

One such example that stands out to me was when this Australian man scammed my dad out of the rent money he owed him and he ended up getting arrested and then deported. Sounded a lil much to me but when it comes to property and money the police fo a decent job at cracking down at them. I read an article the other night in a National Geographic from back in 2007. It was about the oil discovery in the Niger Delta, back in the 1950's and 1960's, and how 5 of the largest multi-national oil companies moved in. The 5th largest oil reserve in the world, with enough production to last 80 years at current output, and their associated natural gas reserves of 400 years. So these foreign companies came in, and for the last 50+ years have been taking the oil and ZERO of the wealth gets back to the communities of Nigera. ALL of the wealth goes into the pockets of foreign oil billionaires. There is a 100 million a month payout to the central and local authorities, but since this began, NONE of it goes to the people. Not a single school built, not a single hospital staffed. All of the handdown money stays in the pockets of corrupt local officals and their friends. So the Chinese went prospecting in 2008, and failed to find anything worth tapping, but all the nigerians prayed the Chinese would set up because it's proven that they really DO improve the life of the people with the wealth taken from what is essentially the PEOPLES resource. Not Opecs, not Shells, but the Nigerian people, especially those working around the delta who take the oil out of the ground. Meantime the natural environment has been and still is being ravaged and polluted, young gangs of Nigerian boys constantly aim to kidnap as many oil executives and managers and engineers as they can, and the oil companies pay out £80,000 or £100,000 or more every time to return these engineers etc to their families. The money is THERE, but the only way the people can access it, is to risk their lives kidnapping these foreigners. One engineer that was kidnapped was paid £180,000 to oversee pipeline construction. His nigerian labourers were being paid £3.50 a day. This was 15 years ago. I cannot imagine it has gotten better. Crooks are crooks, but these oil executives and their pet government officials in Nigera are the biggest crooks of all, responsible for misery and death for decades. They should all be shot, and the oil and gas should be making Nigeria one of the most wealthy countries in the world, where the streets are gleaming and every citizen lives an amazing lifestyle.

I talked with several Nigerians during the riots and I heard some pretty horrible stuff. One story I heard was that SARS or another group cut the power around a group of protesters then opened fire with heavy machine guns. One person I spoke to sent a video of her friend that got his guts blown out by a cop. Now I don't how much is true but from what I've gathered they're pretty accurate. It was horrible.

I've stopped and talked to 8 people begging for money at an intersection and have offered $200 cash to work the day with me. Zero people took the offer. I offered to bring them home after work, and 6/8 times the offer was made around noon. So I basically offered people begging for money $50 an hour and none of them even contemplated working. I'll never give somebody anything if they're begging for it.

I read an article the other night in a National Geographic from back in 2007. It was about the oil discovery in the Niger Delta, back in the 1950's and 1960's, and how 5 of the largest multi-national oil companies moved in. The 5th largest oil reserve in the world, with enough production to last 80 years at current output, and their associated natural gas reserves of 400 years. So these foreign companies came in, and for the last 50+ years have been taking the oil and ZERO of the wealth gets back to the communities of Nigera. ALL of the wealth goes into the pockets of foreign oil billionaires. There is a 100 million a month payout to the central and local authorities, but since this began, NONE of it goes to the people. Not a single school built, not a single hospital staffed. All of the handdown money stays in the pockets of corrupt local officals and their friends. So the Chinese went prospecting in 2008, and failed to find anything worth tapping, but all the nigerians prayed the Chinese would set up because it's proven that they really DO improve the life of the people with the wealth taken from what is essentially the PEOPLES resource. Not Opecs, not Shells, but the Nigerian people, especially those working around the delta who take the oil out of the ground. Meantime the natural environment has been and still is being ravaged and polluted, young gangs of Nigerian boys constantly aim to kidnap as many oil executives and managers and engineers as they can, and the oil companies pay out £80,000 or £100,000 or more every time to return these engineers etc to their families. The money is THERE, but the only way the people can access it, is to risk their lives kidnapping these foreigners. One engineer that was kidnapped was paid £180,000 to oversee pipeline construction. His nigerian labourers were being paid £3.50 a day. This was 15 years ago. I cannot imagine it has gotten better. Crooks are crooks, but these oil executives and their pet government officials in Nigera are the biggest crooks of all, responsible for misery and death for decades. They should all be shot, and the oil and gas should be making Nigeria one of the most wealthy countries in the world, where the streets are gleaming and every citizen lives an amazing lifestyle.

You should do one on the rapper "Ksoo". He's currently on trial for 2 murder cases, both of which he has rapped about and put out youtube videos, and in some of the videos he was even wearing the same clothes that he was caught on camera shooting his second victim in. His father is going to testify against him in court. He's guilty as fuck but claiming it wasn't him. Even the murder weapon is seen in several of his videos.

Part of what you said actually isn't correct. A witness said the shooter was about 5'6". Ksoo is over 6 feet tall. But he has a friend who fits that height. They call him "Scottie" or "33". And he's a known shooter.

Just because he stole from the rich companies doesn't mean anything good. It is always the lower mid to bottom level employees that suffer. The hospital my mom works at lost a lot of money. So they are slashing a bunch of departments including food serving (where she is) where they are already understaffed to have a bunch of workers slashed to save money overworking them more while the people running it are still making pay raises and bonuses.That kind of thing is constant in companies, so stealing large sums from companies just screws over the little guys. The only time I have seen the higher ups take a pay cut when the company dipped was with Nintendo. Edit: Often the customers suffer too due to lower quality products are being pushed put for higher prices to make up the loss.
