I took fighting pistol in November of 2020. I learned more in two days there about fighting with a pistol than I did in twenty years in the army. I was a tanker. My primary weapon was a 105 mm gun. The importance of OEM magazines can’t be over emphasized. Carrying an extra magazine just in case something goes wrong is realizing something can go wrong.

Many people have said it, but Clint has been quoted numerous times teaching "not the exact words but in a nutshell" that a spare magazine is not always about ammo, it is much faster to seat a fresh mag and stay in the fight than it is to figure out WTF went wrong with the old one, I carry a spare on me, another in my bag (medical) and another in the glove box of my truck. forgive me if I quote Clint a second time in that no one has ever got into a fight and wished they didn't bring so much ammo, again, maybe not his "exact" words but the message is clear. Thank you, James, for another awesome video!

I know a retired cop who was at the North Hollywood bank robbery shootout. He would absolutely agree with that agents observation. He ran out of ammo and had to hunker down behind a parking block. He lay there taking fire for 10 minutes or more and couldn't do anything about it. And like the Miami incident, they were outgunned. He carried a service revolver and 12 spare rounds. He had a shotgun but didn't have time to get it out. I think about what he went through often.

You can't make people learn. My mother was President/CEO of a credit union. They'd have people come in for car loans, be told the credit union would do the loan but that the people really needed to look for a car 5, 10, 15 whatever thousand less than what they were looking at. People wouldn't listen and in 18 months the car would be sitting in front of the credit union, or the jet skis they had to have. My mother said for decades, "You can't tell anyone anything." That's why they don't want you make someone come to the classes.

Having a spare mag is important too, because if you have a mag malfunction. I got some training in Ohio last year. I don't think it's as good as your, but still was eye opening. When you are moving around cover and obstacles under stress, it's amazing how your normally 100% reliable gun can turn into a jam-o-matic. I normally tap rack and when it doesn't go back into service, I normally just rip out the mag drop it, rack 2 times, and put in a new mag, and rack again. Normally I think this is a double feed, but I try not to get into the habit of looking at the gun to put it back into service.

Ever notice that virtually every person who carriers a microcompact carriers it with the 10 or 11 round flush magazine and the hicap as a spare? So what is the difference between something like a Springfield EMP with the 10 round mag and a P365 in terms of capacity? If you get into that movie gunfight then you will be reloading at the same time.
