Hey one thing you can do to help with your launch and keep the front end down try stiffening up the rear spring it will help keep it from squatting as bad which causes the weight to shift backwards on take off. The raptor is sounding good man hopefully no more issues and good to go for quad wars

Nice to see it up and running again. Did you have any reverse issues with the rev limiter? My 660 is being a shithead with reverse. Also what did you do to run the fan? Raptors are known for having great cooling and Apparently the fan don't run much unless really hot. Just curious on how you delt with the fan and if you had reverse issues.
@gordonwbell3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, do you mean your reverse limiter is kicking in? You can google hard wiring it to remove it. Also, My fan runs all the time because the previous owner used to race it and wired it to run all the time, it’s the thermostat at the bottom of the radiator that turns it on.

So; your issues were a missing needle bearing, the one-way bearing, & carb jets? Glad to see you've got it back in action. Sounds great! I've been especially interested in your build, as I have a 660 UTV apart in my shop at the moment (timing chain came off). Not sure if I have a tensioner issue, guides, or stretched chain. Any way to measure that? Great video & thanks for taking us along.
@StupidFastJohn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! The tensionsers on there are notorious for failing after awhile! I actually drilled mine out and thread it to become a manual tensioner. @@StupidFastJohn - Thanks for the reply & the help. In looking for parts, I had seen those manual tensioners.....I can buy/build one easy. To get the correct amount of tension, do you simply adjust the bolt until it touches? Any idea how often you'd have to readjust? Thanks again!

I'm confused why people have so much trouble with Chinese carbs. I mean yea buy the cheapest one and of course itll be a roblem from the start. But if u get one thats not stupid dirt cheap, and once u get it take it apart and really make sure everything is clean, and jet it accordingly and install the correct needles in it u won't have issues.. gone down that road multiple times.
