“What kind of world has a place for us and for everything else, both now and for future generations? What does it mean for such a world to carry on? How can we make it happen?”
Tim Ingold is Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen. He has written on evolutionary theory, human-animal relations, environmental perception and skilled practice. He is currently exploring the interface between anthropology, archaeology, art and architecture, and is the author of Lines (2007), Being Alive (2011), Making (2013) and The Life of Lines (2015).

interesting ideas, I just disagree with around 42 minutes where you call science for doing things wrong. Science is a method, people execute it. True that many companies apply science to get those humans expressed as much information as possible - that brings them billions of ads income. There is also science that goes about the psychology of people, I recommend checking out Jordan Petereson. So let's say that with commercial you mean - executed by companies, then we can likely agree that it should be more universities that are funded by the state and companies to do research in the area you want. Aren't we already able to put a golf course in a desert? The reality is that the economy decides where things happen and money pays for it. I suggest ( inspired by others) to ask he billionaires of this world to give back the tax money that got by moving around tax laws to give that back to the governments and the governments to make it impossible to get away with these practices so the money goes back to where it came from and can be reinvested to improve things. I miss this completely in the conversation of sustainability and everything.
