True, every rts game I've seen has either horrible or subpar AI.

The real issue with programming ai in RTS games is balancing them. COH is a good example where the ai is really unfun to play against because it always has perfect micro and avoids every single grenade. Once you start playing GoH you see how scary accurate the ai is and it goes from “the ai is stupid” to “the ai knows everything in doing.” It’s why PvP is so popular within the rts world bc idk if there is ever gonna be an ai that has that sweet spot of intelligence and difficulty

Yes. They use a lot of them in Normandy because their main force are ordered to stay far away from the beach to avoid naval and aerial artillery strike.
