Yeah the MK.IV was the greatest tank ever because it influenced tank design. That’s not how it works bud, if you’re thinking of better you’re going by specifications and service. MK.IV has teething problems, tolerable since it was the first fielded tank design. STG-44 IS NOT the best rifle today. Less ammo capacity, barely any modularity, it even had some problems in service though I need to find that out, and it’s heavier to carry for less. There was many other guns before that fit the ‘Assault Rifle’ definition WAY before the STG-44. Wehraboos can suck Soviet dick and admit their tech ain’t the best since tech can’t win a war

Actually I liked the section on shooting out to 300 meters. The German soldiers issued these weapons were taught to fire mostly semi-Automatic. As one can see full auto fire of an entire magazine will render a soldier with his 7 magazines soon all empty. Burst of course of 2-3 rounds was also effective and full rock and roll only in situations of very close combat requiring a mass of killing lead due to extreme and multiple danger to one's survival. Great job.

@@beraetuestarz3696 There's a pattern here though. The PPSH, MP40, M3 SMG, and the STG44 all had cheap and quick manufacture time a key design consideration. Now I don't think a wood furnishing would add insanely more time, but it wouldn't be super quick either. With a pure metal design, it can be stamped in one go without any additional work for the wood furnishings. The wood furnishings can become a bottle neck when it otherwise didn't need to.

A friend of mine who was in Kosovo said he would see some of the most interesting guns during the weapons turn ins they held there. He saw a few of these, but the one that really stood out in his mind was the Thompson that a little old lady brought in once, still in its original packaging with the grease on the parts. Sadly, these were all destroyed...
@kevinstafford44758 жыл бұрын
Tiberius Vindex Yea, it's amazing the different and interesting firearms one will find across the globe that wouldn't be expected. My first Afghanistan rotation I came across a 1886 Lebel. I actually got to bring that one back, legally of course, since it was considered a "curio" by military regulations. We also found a bunch of 98 Mausers and I came across a stripped receiver and barrel for a M1 Garand. Same with Iraq, a lot of older, and collectable here in the States, weapons. Seriously sucks about that old Thompson. Unfortunately for those of us that appreciate older weapons, too many historical pieces are destroyed everyday.

In the Germans heads it was a throwaway rifle because they would just replace it with another no big deal this was during war time so longevity was not a concern while the ak had been thought out and tested to be reliable with a good while of war free research.
