We lived at Kelly Barracks 1980-1983. It appears they renovated the stairwells on each level to combine the 3 and 2 bedrooms into one apartment and added balconies! We lived in the middle 2 bedroom with 2 boys for 3 years! It was very adequate and we loved Stuttgart and Kelly Barracks! Thanks for the tour! Very enlightening!

Das sieht so toll aus war früher oft mit meiner Freundin in den barracks würde alles geben nochmal da einkaufen und bishen Zeit verbringen schätze dich glücklich dort leben zu dürfen

Is there additional storage as well? In another video, they went down some stairs and there was cage storage somewhere. Thank you for this video. It is very helpful to prepare our large family for a pcs to Stuttgart.

Yes you have down in the basement a locked storage unit. So helpful!!!

This made me less nervous about going to Germany! I cannot believe they have a 5 bedroom. We have 4 children and they are still mostly young and into toys and have big things you know. It is hard for them to share, even though we have done it before. Thank you so much for sharing! Do you know how the process is there? If we have 4 children that are girl, boy, girl, boy and big age gaps does that guarantee that we could get a 5 bedroom or would we just have to take what is available at the time? Do you get to put a preference, or even get assigned a house before you get there or do you have to already be there? We have had it where we had to be on island first before even getting put on the list in HI and then in AL we had an address weeks before we even arrived. Everywhere else they just showed us something when we got there. Thank you for your time!

Meg Williams I can’t remember if you can get on the list before or not. We were in contact before but were not even offered a house until here. Our situation was different then most. We went to the top of the list because hubby was unaccompanied before this assignment. I think you will be offered a 5 bedroom if available. I do know that if they have something you will have to wait, as long as it’s under 60 days. We wanted to stay on base for the convenience and don’t regret it. Just remember it is apartment living. Bridget Davis do you know if rank plays a role in what you get on post? We leave Ft. Knox on Aug 1st for stuttgart and my husband is 3 months away from finishing sgt major academy. On knox we are in the E-6 through E-8 neighborhood and they're duplexes. They have awesome housing here for E-9's regardless of how many kids you have. We have two kids and we were hoping that we might get bigger housing or a bigger apartment with an extra bedroom or something. Any info you could provide me with would be great. Also we have a California King sleigh bed with a hutch, two night stands and two chests of drawers. We had to measure ahead of time to tetris the furniture in the tiny master bedroom here. The rooms are extremely tiny in these 3 bedroom town house duplexes. 1700 sq ft. I'm worried about our furniture fitting. My daughter has a full size bed and my son has a full size loft bed. Seeing your flat made me feel like our furniture would fit no problem but I'm not sure if it will in the 3 bedroom flats.

Suzy Feiler on the installation we live on, most housing is apartment style. They do divide by enlisted and officer. The houses that they have on post are called General housing... there are some that live there that are not generals but they are up there or it may have something to do with their job. I don’t know know for sure if you will be offered a 4 or not. But if you call the housing people they will tell you if it’s possible. I think there are a couple videos that have 3 bedrooms displayed. If nothing is available within 60 days you may have the option to look off base. There are some pretty nice houses out on the Economy. Sorry I’m not much help! Good luck!

I was stationed on the same installation from 1993-1996 and we had no Air Conditioning, either. It is not really needed in Germany.

David Gregory I lived here as a child too and yes I would agree we did fine without air conditioning. This time around our first two years it was horrible. No air and high 90,s. I’m from Georgia originally, I could not deal. Window units work great ! 😁 The locals all said it was not normal weather but it was hot!!
