I think 1 word you said summarizes the effect of finding your spot on this graph: magnetism. When your outfit (or more generally, the way you present yourself) matches your essence (who you are on the inside), you draw people to you, you make people wonder who you are. I love this system, it's super refreshing like other people have said, and I am definitely going to go nerd out about this now!!

interesting. Henry Cavill actually did a video standing right in the middle of Times Square and pointed out that no one even recognized him. If I recall he was just wearing something like a bomber jacket and some jeans... more like you described Tom Hardy. So there ya go!

Bruce Willis as true neutral had me dying - I am really appreciating how you have catalogued and articulated so much with this system! Thank you for what you're making, this is revolutionary. Thank you for putting words to things i've been trying to explain for years. Looking forward to more men being able to explore Up Left expression - that mine runs so deep, and I think exploring and bringing it out to be celebrated is an essential part of everyone's healing in our culture.

Love this concept and your evocative language!! I don't know of a similar clothing system but your discussion reminded me of Jean Shindoa Bolen's book The God in Everyman. She explores archetypes and psychology using greek gods. I felt a bit like you would be great creating costumes for her archetypes and combinations of the archetypes. Bolen also splits her archetypes into fathers and sons.

I thought I'd come tell you: I watched this video yesterday and woke up thinking about this concept. I love it and think that your simplified concept might just work! (more info needed, though--but it's so very promising!) My initial thought was that "the Jason Momoa style" looks kind of like theatrical romantic's masculine version: extremely masculine but also extremely adorned. By the way, thank you very much for answering my comment in your one of your previous videos. It made my day.

Super interesting system! I love the quadrant system here! It's so much more organized and intuitive than the Kibbe system! I'm wondering if labelling the quadrants and axes might help with clarification? Since some of the qualities you listed are based off of jungian archetypes, maybe label them based on those ideas? It also gets quite dizzying when you're like "right-down, centre left-up, far right down.." Thanks for this!

This is so interesting! I think this system works for women as well? I'm a woman who can definitely see herself somewhere in the bottom left quadrant. Anything light-coloured and structured look terrible on me! And the top right quadrant reminds me of Chidi Anagonye from The Good Place for some reason. 😁

This is definitely vibing with me. It has been so hard for me to pin down my essence when my hobbies, interests and tastes are so varied. I know this is for men but it definitely helps me to open up more of an intuition toward essence and why some things don't look as good. Whereas before I was creating outfits for individual occasions and the vibe of who I am is all over the place

I’ve been watching you for sometime now to get your thoughts on kibbe... and this video has zero application toward me....but I adore this system. It’s like a video game character/D&D version of kibbe for men. I love it! If you made one for women I would adore it even more, lol.

I'd love if you brought in the (high key appropriated) concepts of yin/yang types and reframed it with your own terminology that could be more inclusive/less offensive, too! I think this would really expand the physical-psychological relationship.

All these outfits have so much in common in terms of their basic structure RIP Chadwick Boseman

@StyleThoughtsbyRita3 жыл бұрын
we're not sure how yin/yang fits in here but we are very open to that idea. one thing though is that yin/yang can map onto feminine/masculine and this is not really something we see, they are all masculine to us

This is profound and great fun! Comparing them in suits and casual was definitely eyeopening. Bruce Willis has always puzzled my mind as not looking like an archetype "action hero". I perceive him more as a babyface, whimsically, and cool (Cross- checking with my toddler 😉) If I was to put him away from the middle, his fun and boyish charme would put him a little towards down right. I can't wait for the next video about this!

Do these words only apply to men, or can they be used to differentiate between the left and right for women?
@TheOyaOshun2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate this system but found this video perplexing, even a year later. Is there a reason that the men's categories are a complete opposite of the women's? (Why is the Right + Up man the equivalent / twin to a Left + Up woman - rather than them both being say Left+Up? I would love to apply your system to the men in my life but find the inversion confusing. I would love to know if I can just apply the parameters of the women's definitions to a man (but with gender appropriate names, archetypes and examples) or is there an essential reason for the Left right inversion? Thank you.
@StyleThoughtsbyRita2 жыл бұрын
Left and Right are not inverted for men and women... They just have somewhat different words. RU men and RU women are similar in the style concept. I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from bur we are working on updates and clarified content for men so stay tuned 💜

I don’t think Henry Cavill is nearly as far “up” as you say! in my eye he looks far better in less tailored, chunky knits and the like, that let his big muscles show their natural strength full and open relaxed and not confined, he carries his own structure that shouldn’t be boxed in.. almost like he has “up” on his own without clothes and if you add artificially/externally it becomes too much. Not that I think he is “down” but more middling probably.
@happyzinny3 жыл бұрын
On second thought not as “right” either, think he looks better roughed up a bit, I mean, Geralt??? Or the Alaska scenes in Superman! He moves more than you say
