I wanted to transition to grey and started using a lighter shade of brown when coloring my hair. I thought I was looking sick or washed out. Went back yo my natural warm darker brown and looked so much better. I don’t know if I will ever look “healthy” in grey hair!

One thing I had to watch out for when going gray, was what happened to my skin tone if I went with cool colors. It looked tougher and redder instead of clearer*, (*which it did while wearing warm tone clothing). The wrong color made me appear to have blemishes or a rash, while the brighter, warmer colors smoothed my skintone out.. even while wearing the same makeup with either! Only, EXCEPTING black OR NAVY…- which made my skin ‘glow’. There should probably be a category for ‘Bright’, lol! After dying my hair for years to hide the gray& what appeared as white (?) ( think S&P) in my brunette hair , I finally went light blonde (10). I also tried the fad of dying it silver gray. It Looked awful with my skjn tone. I finally stopped dying it and it came in light blonde (10!) with platinum blonde in it. So much better. I am a ‘Light’ now, ( like when I dyed it blonde) where my brunette would have made me a ‘deep’. My skintone is a light on face, but light olive where the sun tans. Tricky.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 8?? My advice is pay attention to the width of your face. Glasses that fit your width look better but there's a practical reason too. Glasses that way are too wide won't stay comfortably on you face. Statement glasses are fun but if you need to wear them all the time, make sure they fit your face with. Talk with the sales people, they can show you how to read the width. If you have a really small face, there are brands that cater to that. And don't be afraid to look at children 's glasses. Also get flexible hinges. The hinges that are ridge break easier. Think of all the scenarios you will wear you glasses and pick accordingly. Lastly think of the colors you wear most and gravitate in that direction. Oh on more, think of frame material. Plastic is lighter and if you have a strong prescription that will securely hold the lens. But a repair kit. Get scratch protection, seem less bifocals, Sun protection lens. That's my advice. It cost more up fron, but last much long. Not gonna lie, good glasses cost around $500. If you know you prescription has sttle, these glass can last 5 to 10 years. Totally worth it.

Yes. I also miss my 20-20 vision. I think I made a mistake picking my latest frame. They are black and my hair is "aging strawberry blonde." Ugh!
@michelebrotman53456 ай бұрын
I always heard your hair should do lighter as you age. I am 66 and still have my hair dyed dark brunette ( my original color) . No highlights. I tried lighter hair when it grew back after cancer treatment, but just didn't like it . I may decide to go gray sometime in the future, but not yet!!! Keeping dark hair is just me.

I never had much rear, and it didn’t get better with aging. I could lose a lot of fabric back there. It’s an adjustment that’s really hard to make if the pants are tailored and lined.

I have very dark hair and pale skin and I have always heard that as women age they should lighten their hair as dark can look too harsh with older skin. Thus, I have put highlights in, but your making me maybe rethink that
@NadaManley6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! In my experience, dark hair that is highlighted can make a woman look washed out. Maybe consider a dark brown instead of the black but all one solid beautiful color. of course you and your hairstylist will have to make the best decision for you, but I have seen it over and over again where dark hair gets highlighted, and it looks washed out

Question for you: When I was younger, my coloring was pretty much like yours. Now I am in my mid 60s and I have decided to let my long hair go salt and pepper. I used to consider myself neutral in colors: have worn warmer makeup shades and warmer colors overall. I do wear both gold and silver jewelry. Should I change my colors to cool now? What do you think?
@NadaManley2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Good question! The more salt in your hair, the more you'll find that the cooler shades and metals suit you best. I know it can be a tricky transition!

ideas or suggestions as requested: what to wear per yr measurements ie longer from elbow to wrist than shoulder to elbow or longer from knee to ankle than crotch to knee... or short waisted or very petite height like 4 10 to 5 ft. also, golden blonde,golden skin,,blue eyes translates to warm colors so what colors to wear in summer, summer 2024 sandals trends, sun dress trends not maxi, nail color/shape trends, colors of the year ,excersise dresses with undershorts

I'm silver hair and been like this since my late 40's before it was popular.. (i'm ahead of the curve) lol.. im still having problems with my color pallet white and black look fantastic on me .. I was thinking jewel tones are my friends.? more styling with us silver-hair gals would be great.. Its not about aging me its more about not everyone wants to colour there hair.. I think I would look fake. my skin tone looks good with my hair.. hmm long winded I know ... silver hair and colour analyzes would be great

You also aren't suppose to whiten your teeth any whiter than the whites of your eyes! Speaking as a cosmetologist, red heads and people with warm coloring should never go gray! Your face is used to the warm hair coloring around it, and usually your gray is a yellow gray-- not attractive on anyone.
