And also there must be a specific regulatory body for that particular sport. Extreme Violence and bloodshed with no rules where the injury is the norm and not exceptions can never be recognised even remotely as a sport. Sports recognise healthy competition among competitors. And there is nothing called MMA. There is no legal term that is called MMA unlike wrestling, basketball etc. The term MMA was first coined in Hollywood before that nobody ever heard that name. lol

I choose Ortega and I'll tell you why. I think in the striking department, Volk has the edge. He's shown that he can hold his own better against Holloway than Ortega can. His wins against Holloway are highly debatable and controversial, but there's no contesting that he certainly held his own very well against the undeniable nightmare that Holloway is on the feet. Volk has that to his credit and against a Holloway that is the best striker in the division by a landslide when he's on his game. However Ortega is no slouch either. Up until him, nobody had ever KOed Frankie Edgar before and we're talking 13 years and even prime Aldo couldn't do that to Edgar. To put that into perspective, the fight before Ortega, Edgar easily and mercilessly dominated a 24 year old Yair Rodriguez who was plowing his way through featherweight on an unstoppable hype train until he met Frankie. Little MMA math, sure, but it's a highly notable feat for Ortega against a legend like Frankie and his win against TKZ was absolute domination as well, so he's only getting better. I think he's definitely in a place where he can not only hang with Volkanovski but is in a position that he may even be able to upset him in striking and it may just come down to the style match up there. We've seen that Ortega learned a hard lesson against Holloway and we've seen him step up his game significantly since then, which should make this a fight that puts these guys relatively close in the striking department. They've both been through the Holloway ringer and both know the level you will need to fight at for the strap. Ortega has never been knocked out before, only TKO'd via doctor stoppage once by Holloway. Volkanovski has not ever been KOed, but has been TKOed before. We've also seen that Ortega has an iron chin and can absorb a hell of alot of punishment and still keep coming. But it's not those reasons for why I think Ortega wins. It's because Ortega has, bar none, nearly incomparable BJJ in the division and if he gets ahold of Volkanovski, I do absolutely think it's a wrap. And I think that's exactly what he plans to do. Absolutely and UNBELIEVABLY casual of you to say he doesn't have the tools when there's hardly anyone at featherweight anywhere in the stratosphere of Ortega's BJJ. Crazy that anyone can claim to know what they're talking about and in the same breath, say Ortega doesn't have the tools while knowing nothing of his BJJ skills. That's just utterly laughable.
