Fantastic video! I'm only 3 years into bonsai and really enjoying it. I only just came across your channel and look forward to watching more of your content

Thank you Peter, for this great video. I think its fantastic that you shared the history of this tree, the reasoning behind your decisions made, as well as the nuances that come with this specific species. Another gem on your channel! The quality of this video was also a great improvement. Comparing it to your first videos, your directing and editing skills have matured and refined as well so it seems. Beautiful tree, beautiful garden (from what I can see in the background) and keep up the good work. All the best, cheers

Oh, and I love that London plane tree in the background. It appeared in some earlier videos. It’s just gorgeous. Delicate and subtle, the foliage is beautiful. It’s only going to improve with age of course. I’d love to see it in 10 more years.

Awesome, worth the wait between vids. Peter, your videos during lock down were incredible and I really needed them at the time. I saw, you in Australia in 2019, the night time demo you did on a 20+ year squamata juniper in Sydney. It was a really important night for me just seeing a world class pro in the flesh. Thank you for all the educational work you put out. You’re a legend.

Thanks but I am just a bloke who fiddles with trees and thinks too much :)
@wabisabi36192 жыл бұрын
Haha I guess. That sums up most people involved with bonsai perhaps. But don’t sell yourself short, I think a lot of people greatly appreciate what you bring to bonsai. And I definitely like the way you think to much. As I said your lock down videos were so important and not just because of what you said about bonsai your thoughts and insights mattered too.

It's been a long time since I took notes while watching a bonsai video, today, with this video I've done it. I really like your approach to bonsai. Talking about michicomi is very daring, because to achieve it, the only thing you can do is take small steps, and that is not cool these days. Thank you for the video!

Ah Peter, this captures your style and spirit so well! I really appreciate your explanation of your sight and thinking process. Wonderful result! A question though - I've lost a juniper to borers that hid in the bark, which is one reason to remove it. Do you do anything special to avoid borers when you leave the old bark on the tree?
@saruyamabonsai2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, appeciate it. Thankfully the only borers we have around here are me and other bonsai geeks. I am the wrong person to ask about that. Ryan would be the person to speak to. I think pheromone traps are an option to know when the borers are about and then you can spray for them, but I am stabbing in the dark.
