I’ve been on a mission this last month or so to fall back in love with pieces I already have. It’s been so great and you totally inspired me to do this! I’ve been using open wardrobe to experiment with outfits and I’ve enjoyed it way more than I thought. I think a classic trench is SO classic and SO neutral that u almost don’t perceive it. Add to that the fact that it covers your whole body and it’s almost like you’re invisible. That’s why spies wear them in movies and why they’re so hard to style.

I get being lazy wearing shoes that are not so easy to slip on but what I do sometimes is skip the last hole or two of the lacing then use a long shoe horn so it's easier to put on. There are shorter shoe horns but those are easier to use if you have a bench or chair to sit on while wearing the shoes. A long one allows you to use it even whilst standing or on the go. Might be useful for you!
