You make the most beautiful beaded and decorated jackets. I’m curious. How do you clean them without damaging the decorative elements?

Thanks! I made a whole episode about it but basically, some have detachable beaded trims, and with other jackets it's easier to just carefully take out the silk lining, clean that and hand sew it back in. The outer jacket can just be spot cleaned most of the time or there are specialist, expensive dry cleaners in large cities who can work on embellished designer clothing. 🧥 The episode kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHeclnpqarVrkJo

Ok,thanks. My pattern number is 8804 by Claire Shaeffer. I love the 3 part sleeve but hate that little dart. Trying to get around the dart.

I do the dart on the structural layer (the netting) but then I drape the tweed over the structural layer, so that way the tweed is nice and smooth and all one piece. A jacket pattern with princess seams (like V7975) is better for a tweed jacket than a pattern with darts in it because tweed/wool is so bulky. You could do the sleeves/cuffs from V8804 but the torso/bodice of the jacket from V7975. 🥰🧥
