How about stylish, heartbroken, full of anxiety and broke as fuck

Dude, watch some Tony Robins. Change your state of mind. Since I started to watch that dude I joined a band, played in local clubs and shows, began to write songs and learned to budget and save. I've also got a new job that pays better. Decide to change. Or not. It's really up to you.

I love the J. Ferrar Suits. Their 34R Super Slim Fit fits me great off the rack,, and I have my tailor take the sleeves up a tad. Depending on the sale you can get them for $150 to less then $100. I just picked up a Charcoal 3 piece for $105. Can't beat it.

Great Video but what bothers me is that Suits from Fast Fashion brands like H&M and Zara always have that "fashion cool" attitude instead of the "classic dressy" feel (I don't know how to describe it else). Most likely it's because I'm not a big fan of those very skinny ties and the small revers which looks just ridiculous IMO. But sometimes sure you can get lucky and for students like me who just want a suit for fun (instead of a everyday wear at the job) it sure is a good option.

Really like the atmosphere of the new videos, not ad-driven as some others. I personally think some brands (e.g. Hugo Boss) make overpriced suits usually one type of cut just in diffrent fabrics, have seen a fully lined linen Suit with quite some padding, for me that's the total opposite of what linen stands for.

"Shop on a budget" "buy by looking for great prices" Great video fellas!! Love The Tie Bar as well. H&M and Zara are stepping up their game with quality and it looks sharp also. I help some of my friends over here in Boston on shopping and looking sharp (image consultant) .. they LOVE my input. One item is coming from indochino which I recommended. Can't wait!! You guys are an inspiration seriously. 🙏🏼✌🏼

If you head by K&G they have suits wool suits for $100 to $200 . Plus check out your local Tailors where I live in CT at Vanentinos you can buy a really nice RTW super 250 wool suit for $550 and includes tailoring. For high quality suit that is not bad.

Thrift store suit, Bought it half off for about $4. Used my sewing machine, and tailored it myself. If you learn basic knowledge of a sewing machine you can tailor anything easily. Suit came out great.

I started off with a blue suit and a lighter blue plaid one. I also try to buy vintage suits that are fairly cheap. I’m talking $10-20. As long as they fit, it’s awesome. I stared off with one white shirt and built it up to 20 dress shirts, that fit well from TM Lewin//Charles Tyrwhitt. And my ties from The Tie Bar. I started off with 3 ties, and I built it up to 30. I always focus on shirts first when I buying a tie. All my ties match my shirts in one way or another. It’s all strategic. Know what you have, and build off of what you have. The blue and grey suit as start offs will always finish off your outfit perfectly.

This video came just in time ! I've to get a suit for my cousin's wedding next year & I'm planning to re-wear & alter my suit that looks baggy on myself now. Or just get another suit that is fitted in another color? It is because, the wedding is in a beach resort hotel.

Shopping on a budget requires research. What brands make affordable clothing in your price range. Go into stores that carry beans your like . Feel their clothing, try it on. See who carries a similar product but at different price point. Learn the at of thrifting which sometimes leads to finding vintage and/or classic high end pieces at a fraction of the price. Take care of your clothes , research dry cleaners and tailor shops or friends that may know someone who is great behind the sewing machine. Find a brand that has a good variety of colors and sizes. Also least how to put pieces together to make an outfit and make a statement. This is my formula for my wardrobe.

Alright guys, not sure if you will get this question or not. But here it goes. I am 6'1" and right around 300lbs. Body builder type body. Looking for a suit online to make. It seems every site I go on. The biggest they go up to if 52L. That's a problem, because I am a 54L. And usually the mid section is huge, and have to have work done to it. Which is fine. I have all my clothing tailored to my body anyways. Any info, please throw it down here in the comments. Thank you !!

Try going to goodwill and find a 1,000 dollar suit that isn’t too short and fits in the shoulders and have it tailored. Make sure it’s a double vent and no pleats on the pants.

I must have 20 jackets and 4 suits. Numerous pair of slacks, 40-50 shirts, a dozen pair of shoes, a hundred + ties and bow ties. All first class stuff. All of my friends wonder how I can afford to dress so well. ............ The Salvation Army, Goodwill, local thrift shops, Savers, etc., are my go to stores! ....... and I have a very good, (and reasonable tailor). Dressing well is a hobby that I enjoy! Also estate sales. I went to the estate sale of a gentleman who was an editor of the Washington Post. I picked up 10 beautiful Italian silk pocket squares for $7 !! It’s a lot of fun!

When do you wear a suit, personally? I've never invested in a suit because still, at 30, I've never needed one. Unfortunately men and women just don't dress up anymore like they used to maybe 20-40 years ago. I wish people still wore suits to go out to dinner and things like that.
@gentslounge7 жыл бұрын
Trust us. It's the same way in LA for the most part but we still dress up. You'd be surprised the reactions you get when you walk into a place in a suit. Espescially, if you're not required to. -G

I wouldn't recommend a black suit for any beginners. It's not versatile. Black suit is only for funerals. Stick with the classic dark navy or grey if u live in a city & brown if u live in a country.
@eturbo977 жыл бұрын
It's a blatant lie that no one can tell the difference between a $600 Stefano Ricci and $10 H&M tie by a quick glance.
@eturbo977 жыл бұрын
H&M makes horrible suits. That being said, still love your videos
@gentslounge7 жыл бұрын
Not everyone can afford a $2000 suit or a $600 tie. Sometimes you have to work with what you have and we believe you can make what you have look good no matter the price.
@eturbo977 жыл бұрын
I would suggest J Ferrar for good suits under $100 instead of spending that same amount on H&M. As for ties, Tie Bar and Thrift Stores.
@j.r.58037 жыл бұрын
Maybe u cant tell the difference. But you can feel the difference. PS: Its kinda hard not spotting the diffrence though. Although if a person never saw a 2k suit the 500 ones are the best on his eyes for example.
