This is a very American thinking - Sukhoi is owned by the government. With the profits of every sold unit they will build another one for themselves. Or maybe even much more because only part of the cost is in dollars and the rest is in currency they can print. The building cost (not the selling price) is rumored to be around $30m, if they sell it for 90 they'll make 2 for themselves and another one for export.

Articles have been claiming since 2015 that Algeria hadn't acquired it yet, until we saw it ten years later at a military show. It's very likely that Algeria obtained the Su-57 a long time ago, and people are only noticing it now.

Algeria is considered as the 4th/3rd top customer of Russian weapons, they negotiate thoroughly and test the weapons extensively if the deal is conducted probably they will get the version that suits their needs, there are cases where the weapons were sent back after the test did not achieve the intended purpose by the military. The first information about the SU57 deal was in 2021, but there is another talk of a deal that surfaced recently of acquiring the SU35 maybe the SU57 deal didn't make it and it was repalaced by SU35. please correct me if I'm wrong I heard once a Malaysian official saying that American planes are used only for "air shows", and that they can not be used for defense purposes without the approval of the US. in addition to that several accounts noted that the US sell politics alongside with its own weapons. my question is does the US provide to a non ally outside of NATO country the necessary ammo, repair, technician instructions, spare parts, or maybe a licence to local manufacture for its jets when making deals ?

4:30 For a lot of non-aligned countries (egypt india malaysia/indonesia etc) the superior capabilities of US fighters must be balanced with prospect of supply and logistical disruptions in spares, ammo and upgrade packages, either formally or otherwise, if the US govt wants to influence foreign or even domestic policy. Think turkey, pakistan or egypt. Russia will sell you a 60% capable system at 0% political overhead. thats not an endorsement or statement of support, just facts
@doomedwit101011 күн бұрын
That's not entirely true. Russia will just use its influence more narrowly. Russia will restrict your supply if you directly act contrary to their core national interests. The U.S. may ALSO interdict ig it offends their moral and political sensibilities, which are much broader. Additionally Russia is more desperate for sales, so less likely to invoke the power in a close case. But there's a reason India likes to seek both, because either could do it. It's not ni strings attached. But I agree it's fewer strings. Russia wouldn't care if you invaded a country they didn't have a national interest in, or tied dissidents to the wings and did loop de loops. The West would. But I don't disagree. The only question is, what about China? Is China not exporting or is Russia cheaper?

It's more likely that they will either do a deal for used US jets or find a compromise/contra deal with a Brics partner over a more cost effective jet. Its not that the pilots wouldn't love it... just they won't be given the $$$ to spend. Are the low numbers in service in the Russian AF just because Russia doesn't have the cash to pay for more, but the factory could crank up production at the drop of a hat? Did you know that Algeria and the USA are linked? The history of Algeria is fascinating. A multi-millenial story going back to Numedia, one of the oldest human civilizations. Besides Hannibal the great General who made Rome tremble was Algerian (from Numidia as in Gladiator 2), He was an Algerian Berber. Algeria is the only country in the world to have defeated terrorism. Algeria fought mercilessly against terrorism during the 90s. And they won the war against terrorism, alone without help. This is what allowed Algeria to gain immense skills in the field. Their army is the leading military power in Africa and the Middle East. It even surpasses many Western countries. It is a competent and very experienced army but also very professional. NATO and the American services and all countries often call upon Algeria for its great experience in the fight against terrorism, and for its very effective intelligence services. And you should know that in American military schools like West Point in the United States, the officers have students study the art of Algerian guerrilla warfare. This is how they defeated the French army during the war of liberation and for independence. Algeria became the world center of revolutionary struggles during the 1970s. Che Guevara, Nelson Mandela, the Black Panthers of the civic movements... all went to Algeria to join the revolutionary cause and who defend just and noble causes... Algerians have always supported oppressed peoples. During the Second World War, the allies were established in Algeria. Hundreds of thousands of Algerians gave their lives to free the world from the Nazis. These soldiers were called the Algerian Tirailleurs. True warriors on the front lines. French cemeteries are full of these buried Algerian Tirailleurs, who sacrificed themselves in the two world wars in order to liberate France and the world. The United States Navy was created thanks to Algeria. both indirectly and both directly. A common history between the USA and Algeria? Indeed, the American Navy was created at the time of Barbarossa and the pirates who were rampant in the Mediterranean, the United States suffered a heavy defeat and that's how they decided to create the US Navy. The history between the USA and Algeria is linked. Abraham Lincoln decorated a great Algerian leader, Emir Abdelkader, who had saved thousands of Christians in Syria. Abraham Lincoln received him at the White House, to thank him and to decorate him with the highest American distinction, for his heroism and his great humanity. He was a great Algerian hero who fought against the French colonists. Following this event, President Abraham Lincoln also gave him two magnificent Colt pistols decorated with gold and diamonds. These two Colts are on display in a museum in Algeria. A historic friendship. A historic friendship. The USA also supported Algeria's fight against colonial France. President JFK received Algerian President Ahmed Ben Bella at the White House to congratulate Algeria's independence. JFK was a great supporter of the Algerian cause. Very few know it in America but we even have a city named after Emir Abdelkader. It was founded in honor of the Algerians and its people. Look on Google Map you will be amazed.

To add to joncox, remember our own DoD stated 80% of all microchips in US equipment is made in China and all contain hardwired backdoor kill switches, statements delivered to Congress in Hearings with Jim Jordan as chair. Also remember two flights first sent after that balloon had to turn back due to "Electronics Failures" including a type that has shot down objects in orbit before. The two jets that finally sent had to be stripped of the electronics and rebuilt for the mission, taking about a week to prep that third flight. (This part is just my own suspicion, I think they borrowed hardware from Israel to rebuild them) Israel does buy US jets but has a requirement to replace all the electronics with hardware they produce themselves. The I model of the joint strike fighter combines the best of the 3 used by the US and with their electronics even out performs the US models in several areas including Speed, Range and Engagement Range by slight amounts after they are done. Basically Israel does what Calloway does for GM corvettes with US military jets. Also Turkey has turned down the US jet for their own home built KAAN after being partners in the US project development, that is also being readied for sale with the same tech imbedded from the start. By building for others you can pay for your own force with a 1 sold for 1 for home and you can hold back some upgrades or options a few years. You do want to limit who you sell too but also consider if allies have the same basic equipment then they can service your stuff or provide help in joint forces. If we are to fight in Asia we will need basing in friendly countries and we are extremely short on Navy ships fit to cross the ocean in the escort, supporting or supply roles. The Littoral classes, not counting unexpected problems, are not even designed for action beyond the home coastal areas with range limitations that make them unsuited for any overseas conflict beyond central America or Canada. The Burkes are 20yrs past planned retirement and no replacement is ready, same for the Aegis ships. Other than the Ford Carriers the navy has not launched a worthy new class in over 20 years. Part of the problem is everything has gone into R&D but little into production. Hi , regarding the Algerian 🇩🇿 Air Force, Mig 29 Foxbat , in 1984 the Algerian 🇩🇿 government takes the responsibility for helping the Palestinian 🇵🇸 people liberation to recognise their country and government, so the Israeli didn’t like that, as they did in Tunisia 🇹🇳 couple years back, the IDF flew from Israel to Tunisia 🇹🇳 and bomb 💣 The headquarters, so they try to do the same operation, but unfortunately Algeria 🇩🇿 is not Tunisia 🇹🇳. The IDF tried to do the same thing but they failed due to the Algerian 🇩🇿 Mig 29 Foxbat . Check it out please.

China was the second country after the US to field a 5th generation aircraft. The J-20 entered service in 2017, the Su-57 entered service in 2020. Ahead of Algeria, the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Japan, and Australia all operate 5th gen aircraft. Some of these nations started using the F-35 before the Su-57 was even introduced into service, and some of these nations have more F-35s than Russia has Su-57s. Other nations are also set to recieve the F-35 before Algeria gets the Su-57, and that is not withstanding China giving Pakistan and other potential buyers of the J-35 that aircraft before Russia delivers the Su-57.
@愛を込めてロシアから11 күн бұрын
@ I'll just remind you that the fifth-generation aircraft should be multifunctional, stealth, super-maneuverable, with modern avionics and afterburnerless supersonic. Only the Su-57 meets these requirements.
@voidtempering870011 күн бұрын
@@愛を込めてロシアから Can you tell me who made up that those requirements for 5th gen? Additionally, the F-35 and F-22 are undoubtedly more advanced than the Su-57, along with the J-20 and J-35. The stealth features for the Su-57 simply lags behind compared to the others, and its radar system also isn't that good compared to its competitors.

A follower from Morocco 🇲🇦 since his interaction with the latest movie Top Gun. Neighboring Algeria is free to buy whatever it wants from the Russians, but our choice to partner with the United States of America was correct with regard to weapons, especially the recent deal for 24 F16 Block 72 aircraft, which is a dangerous fighter aircraft. It is true that neighboring Algeria is always seeking to buy the Su 57E. It will be the export version, meaning it is less efficient than the Russian original. In return, Morocco will have to add another option, which is to buy the F35 or F15EX.

However, the war in Ukraine isn’t cheap and reports suggest the Russian economy is not in a good place (if it ever was). The other consideration is what might be in it for Russia. Basing rights in Algeria? It would have given them presence at both ends of the Mediterranean and might be viewed as even more important now that they have been kicked out of Syria?

On a side note France will have all sorts of eyes on these exports if it comes to fruition. This is undoubtedly part of Russia's need to keep hooks in Africa. So many people killed or displaced at Russian hands directly and indirectly by the people they back to take over countries so they can covet the resources and force people into slavery for their beggar empire. Wouldn't surprise me if they set up an airbase to back their despots and cause further "revolutions".
